Hi i have a 2007 S3 which is standard , been reading through here for a few weeks but im blinded by science tbh... is there a set order to do things ?
I get doing the exhaust CAI and remap but i keep seeing fuel pump upgrade too...Can anyone point me to the right parts etc... really want to get the power increased asap
Just done the timing belt etc so raring to go

Cheers in advance

A Turbo-Back Exhaust, Intake System and a High Pressure Fuel Pump will see you to circa 370-380bhp with an APR Stage 2+ Remap, but I'd also recommend going for an uprated Intercooler too so it can hold the power much more easier

My recommendation's on the parts above are;
Milltek Turbo-Back
ITG Intake
Autotech or APR High Pressure Fuel Pump
and also the Airtec Stage 2 Intercooler

Hope this helped a bit bud!

Cheers pal thats a big help ... thanks again
so do you think it would be better to do these first then remap last?

You can always get a Remap first if you want a quick upgrade, once you buy an APR Remap such as Stage 1 then Stage 2 and Stage 2+ are free as long as you have the correct hardware to suit :)

I went straight to Stage 2+ from Standard though, just got all the hardware needed, fitted them and then went and got my remap!

Did you have to upgrade the clutch or has it been ok.... The clutch on my old s3 8L died soon as i mapped it

As Compkiller said, you will need an uprated clutch for sure. I never had that problem as I have the DSG box, apologies for missing that one out!

You did it the right way to be honest.

I did it in stages(LOL) from 1,through 2,and 2+ as I found I just wanted more each time......look where that got me...
Going straight to Stg2+ makes the best sense overall if you can afford it all in one go,but failing that, doing it incrementally also works,as you always need the parts from each preceding step,so nothing is wasted really.

As above....mine was Ok at Stg1,and threw in the towel immediately at Stg2.
There's a decent range of choices now,but the Sachs organic and LUK DMF works well up to the low end of Stg3,but will not tolerate a lot of drag starts.

Avoid paddle clutches if you can,as they are awful around town, and if you really need an unbreakable clutch,a Spec Stg3+ would work, but all of that type are SMF setups.

would you also recomend a new clutch if DSG?

No.

DSG is generally good for a bit north of 400lbs before needing anything much other than software.

Above that, things like clutch packs and so on do become neccessary but that's into big turbo territory.

I'll be going stage 2+ from stage 2.

Will consist of dump pipe, intake, upgraded fuel pump and fuel valve. The intake and fuel valve seem to differ between tuners, my tuner has recomended this path and gets good results.

Stage 2 with a dump and tune is great, but is laggy. Missing low end torque coming from 1.8T with K03 setup.

I'll be upgrading the pipe between the turbo and IC as it helps with early torque (from reading, results seem to vary).

I think you're just noticing the difference between the much smaller K03 and the K04.

Lag isn't really an issue on the K04,as it's still a pretty small turbo, and attention to the mapping may improve that,as I certainly had no problems at Stg2 or 2+

I do get significant lag now with a 3582,but we expected that.
