Hi
I'm new to this and not sure if I'm posting but I need some help if any one can please. I fitted folding Morris and modules on my Audi A1 but when I do left indicator is doing right indicator and right indicator is doing left indicator and even when I do the electric mirrors it's doing same, when I Turn switch to do left electric mirror it's doing the right mirror and when I do the right electric mirror it's doing the left. Is this a coding issue would you say ? Can this be sorted true VCDS ? I'm not sure but possible the modules I have came from an Audi A1 Left Hand Drive would that be the case of why this is happening. Thanks for any one that can help or advice much appriceate it

Couple of answers. 1) not sure if your posting? Well you have posted. 2) this is for a3 and not a1 3) I'm sure someone can help. Good luck

hey @Cartabus jump into either the A1 section and post this there as you are in the A3 section of the site or you can check the A1 forum site too I'm sure they would help you out.

Hope you get sorted

Moved to correct section. :) x

Hi thanks for replaying I'm trying to register on this link you gave me but it's giving errors want let me do any thing :/

I don't think it's a VCDS issue, the coding for folding mirrors is just on or off. I think its far more likely the mirrors have been connected to the CAN gateway with the L/R plugs the wrong way around.

Hi thanks for replay what's a Can Gateway ? All the plugs that go in to the modules are plug in correctly they only go in one way. Could it be this what's happening cos possible the modules are from a Left Hand Drive Audi A1 ? And if I swap the modules round will that work do you think ?

I'd try swapping the modules yes.

The CAN Gateway is the heart/router in the car that all the modules connect to and communicate with each other via.

So if the mirrors are folding there isn't any thing wrong with mirrors? and if I swap the modules round and it don't work is there any other way to use these modules or will I need RHD modules ? Also swapping the modules round want do any damages to car electrics or car it self ? Will be ok to just try one said or will I need to hook both modules up to try this

I'm not sure if swapping will work or if you will need to source RHD modules. You can swap them around without damaging the electrics though. I have no idea what errors it might come up with if you try just one (it might stop both working if just one is connected), I'd swap both and see what happens.

Hi I tried what you advised-swapped modules round and indicators are working how they should but folding and electric mirrors not responding. So I guess swapping modules only sorted indicators but not the rest. So these modules being from an Audi A1 LHD can't be coded to work wit RHD ? And I need to buy RHD modules to make this work ? Is that correct to say
Thanks

I'm not sure to be honest. I would suspect you need RHD modules. I just know in VCDS there is no coding relating to left/right mirror modules, just whether folding mirrors are installed or not.

I bought second hand modules in the hope that they are plug and play and they seem to work but indicator and electric Morris working opposite one an other and I didn't know they where off LHD Audi. If I buy new RHS modules they will need coding or VCDS is that correct to say? Problem I have where I live there isn't any one can do VCDS :/ that's why a I try buy used modules

I have no idea if new modules will need some kind of coding. It may be best to find a VAG specialist you can ask to retrofit them for you.

Fitting them is not a problem as I can do the fitting is this coding or VCDS I can't do and where I am I can't find any one that dose VCDS thanks for your help

My point was a VAG specialist will know about the coding side...

Hi
Would any one know if this a Audi A1 Module Part number
"8X0959793H" is an electric Folding mirror module

As the A1 chassis code is 8X I'd say it is an A1 part. The diagram on the top right looks like a guide to move a jumper or switch to make it RL (Right Lane) or LL (Left Lane) compatible.
Can you see anywhere on it which has a movable jumper? Can you take pics from more angles?

Hi Jose thanks for your answer I got the photo of ebay where I'm looking in to. I already paid for new A1 electric mirror modules from Hazzydays and they said they can code them for me and post them. But now I got told that they are stuck on the matter. So I was looking at these modules with this part number as they look like they have all the pins for plugging in the electric folding mirrors. But not sure if they are electro folding modules
