What have you done to your 8V today?

Having just collected mine from the body shop after having the grille and front valence replaced following some scrote having reversed into it while it was parked (no details left), I'm now arranging for it to go in again to have the door fixed after another miserable scrote has dented the passenger door while it was parked (again no details left).

WTF twice in such a short time! Same car park or different?

That's why I always park like this:

Both times the car was parked on the road. However, I note yours is parked in a Costco car park (other car parks are available). Their spaces are huge compared to most others.

I don't know how people can just do damage and drive off! :( Yeah they are big spaces. However, I can never get over how lazy people can be! You can see the trolley bay on the left, well some lazy git had left a trolley in the parking bay opposite me, so I pushed it back to the bay before going in...didn't want to chance a gust of wind blowing it my way lol.

Those spaces are massive, that the one at Trafford?

No, Chester/end M53. A mate sent me a text yesterday saying that he saw a bright green S3 at the Broughton shopping centre...that wasn't you was it???

Wash and a wax today using my favourite product aqua wax by autoglym. Ideal conditions, cloudy and no wind, car looking good...

Nope, maybe I've been copied or it was another shade of green.

Cheers fella. It's just gloss black. Used the left over vinyl from my grill.
Need to do the window surrounds next.

Looks spot on! How'd you find it in the end?
First one was kinda tricky, then realised I could fold the mirror in rather than fiddle about next to the window

2nd one much easier.

The groove along the top needed some patience.

I'm also toying with the idea of doing the centre piece of splitter trim under the reg plate.

Try chemical guys heavy metal polish
Then finish up with the metal polish wax and sealant and the exhaust will be easier to clean in future

Do you mean the black plastic? Vinyl won't stick to plastic I thought??

I scuffed an alloy..:( was a mile away from the kerb but what I didn't notice is one of the kerb pieces was dislodged and sticking out.. just heard the scrape and my heart sank.. :(

It is right on the polished part and just hopefully I can take it out a wee bit. Maybe a bit of wet & dry paper to take worst of it away? anyone any experience in this.

Ouch mate I feel your pain. I done this on my A4 Black edition 3 days after buying it, luckily I had took the wheel & tyre insurance so Audi repaired it. Still the worst noise in the world to hear in your pride & joy.
Hope you get it sorted easily enough

:thumbs up:

Passed you tonight mate about 17:10. You were parked in the lay by just off the mossmorran roundabout. Car looks good especially the mirrors. Good job :thumbs up:
Yeah, that was me fella! Was on the blower and I always lose signal just after there....You local?

Not technically "to" the 8V, more of a "for" - I have a large bay window on the front of my house, which is just at the right height for front grille damage. My driveway is really short so it's imperative I get as much of the car on as possible (even this close it still overhangs by a little bit).

Today I have mainly been ragging my S3 on the mountain road between Penderyn and Brecon as the sun was setting. What a stretch of road!!

Cool product, not sure what they are called but can imagine then being handy. They just bolt straight into the ground?

Indeed they do. Took me longer to get my tools together than it did to actually put them in. Just need to wrap them in some high vis warning tape, as I can see someone "accidentally" falling over them to make a profit...

I got them from here :

Amazon product

Nice lump of solid rubber and at 2' wide there's plenty of wiggle room. Only downside is that whilst they come with a decent bolt/screw for fixing them down, they don't come with a suitable masonry fixing. Quick trip to B&Q though and it's all sorted.

Sorry about the Unsupported Media - It's the forum software mucking about. Even in Safari it turns the link into a funny Amazon promo box-out. In Tapatalk it just won't show, which is annoying. Pop into web view and it should. No matter how I try to post the link it just bugs out :(

They're called 'Single rubber wheel stop for parking lots and garages 60x12x10 cm'
