My new (to me) B7 Avant

Booked in for paint next week ! Can't wait to have a car that's all the same colour !

Chrome rings going back up front too, never liked the black but they came with the bumper/grill and I've been waiting until it was all sorted to get some on.

Can't wait to see pictures :thumbs up: is the car running ok now?

Running fine, touch wood but I do have a flashing glow plug light that gives me no codes. I have checked and brake lights work fine and the car isn't in limp mode or running any differently. Strange

looking good, didn't realise you were on here, do like the dtm bumpers that's for sure

Looks awesome mate:icon thumright: Bet you're well chuffed with it now!!!

Yeah thanks man, it's been the wrong colour for too long !

Just need TPS to pull their finger out and get me the correct part for the number plate blank instead of sending the wrong thing !

Then all I need is tyres and wobble bolts for my new wheels, exhaust tips fitting etc etc ... Lol

Turns out the local one was for an s-line :(
I put a genuine black edition grille on my sline but tps tried to get me a plate carrier but failed twice. Had it dipped black instead.

I have the exact part number for the part that I need for my SE/DTM grill but even the suppliers can't seem to get it right !

So...

New wheels turned up - no thanks to Paisley Freight who are a bunch of imbeciles.

I'm thinking that they fit just right ..

Yes mate. Same spec as yours but with daft jap holes ! Lol !

Cheers man ! Looking forward to see what yours are :)

Thanks :)

Properly test fitted a wheel on the rear today in between the rain showers just to make sure there were no issues

Fitment seems to be cool, the rear arches on theses cars just seem to swallow up wide wheels.
I have a whole finger space between the inner liner and the wheel and even have a few mm to spare on the outside edge.
Hopefully the 235/35 tyres wont cause any issues here.

Bad news though:

I bought 5 wobble bolts and decided to try and fit them but I cant get more than two to fit - looks like I need to bore out the lug holes of the wheel to give some wiggle room

you're getting there now:icon thumright:, plus , 101 uses for old carpet;):p.

Speaking as someone who's never really tucked a wheel before - how do you find that in terms of airing all the way out without damaging the face of the wheel on the inside of the quarter....? Or can you not completely air out?

I'm still undecided on what to do with mine at the back!!!

My struts are wound up a little so it doesn't drop completely at the rear as not to have too much reverse rake going on. I was worried at first with the rotors but the tyre touches the arch inside before the wheel touches.

Met a friend at UD and bought his 235/35/19 Toyo T1R Proxes which I hoped would do the job..

As I still don't fancy boring out the holes on these wheels I ordered some M14 - M12 step down studs from the US which arrived earlier in the week

Yesterday I got 1 tyre fitted ready for some more testing and calculations

So after work this afternoon I test fitted with the tyre to ensure I have clearance on both the inner and arch sides front and back.

Front is using the 5mm spacer as I was a little concerned about the closeness to the suspension arm without it.

Aired out.

Ride height (with sensible clearance for turning etc.)

Loving the chunky nature of the tyres compared to my current 215. hopefully they will be a little more forgiving.

Also trial fitted the studs to see how they sat when poking through the wheel holes. As you can see, they are almost central.

(Diagram shows blue as 5x114.3 and magenta is 5x112. It's that close )

I thought about running standard M12 tuner nuts..

.. but to be safe I've ordered wobbly ones, the difference in price is only about £10 so at least I have a little bit adjustment and Ill feel safer knowing that there isn't too much stress at certain points :

Its looking well mate!

Didn't think you'd get away with a spacer on the front to be honest..... mines are pretty snug. The 225/35 works ok as well by the way - no clearance issues at all.
