Carista App

this looks good if it works, would be interested to hear others opinions on it

I have one of those Bluetooth devices that is supposed to read fault codes as well as various other things and the dash command app and what a load of s**t it is nothing works so it's been sat in the glovebox ever since lol

Loads of people on the audizine forums are using it successfully, from what I gather it very much depends on luck of the draw with the Bluetooth devise.
some work and others are a load of tosh. ive ordered 1 from Fleabay so will report my findings on if it works.
I just want to enable dial sweep and a couple of other simple changes which are not available through my audi concert

It was this one I bought it connects just fine it's just the apps I tried don't do anything they say they will, I can't seem to find the carista app though on my iPhone :/

From what I can see it is only on Android.

they are beta testing the IOS version at the mo
I have an S5 so will give it a try and post results on here.

if it works its well worth it for people who don't want to spend £350 on ross-tech kit for change a couple of setting.
No doubt the Ross-tech stuff is much more in depth etc but this is like a 10th of the cost.

Just downloaded it and had a play. Seems pretty good I enabled the Needle sweep and the chirp on locking the car. for £15 for the dongle and the same for the software I'd say it's pretty good value.

I have tried mine but for some reason the app will not connect to the ELM327 thingy.
I can get the torque app to work so I know the Bluetooth devise is working.
grrrr. I want the needle sweep  :banghead::keule:

Damn that sucks, I did look around to see if any other apps had the same functionality but haven't found anything yet. One thing I did see is that if you have Torque running in the background it might interfere with another app trying to connect, might be worth killing all the apps on your device and then just running the carista app?

I have tried that mate, did u simply plug the thing into the port then click on Bluetooth and pair with it?
then u clicked on customize? then what does it give u? a list possible things u can change on your car?
cheers

Yep nearly gave myself a hernia upside down but plugged it in, paired it to the phone using the pulldown menu on a Samsung S5 then once it had paired it req a passcode tapped it in and then rant he app and it just connected.

I didn't see the dvd lock but as I don't have it I don't know if the scan would pick it up etc.

MODS: If the like breaks rules etc please remove.

I just searched and read the reviews, not selling them myself honest. :)

Amazon product

I like the sound of this for a total outlay of £30. (£15 for the box and £15 for the app)
I want needle sweep and alarm beep on lock so may give it a go.
Have liked Carista's FB page and will watch this thread to see how other forumites get on.

Carista support emailed me and said it does activate the eject button but only if you have MMI 3G,as I only have 2G on my b8 it aint gonna work:unhappy:

Had a look on the site and it will only work on B8 (I have a B6) so no good for me.

The dvd drive in the boot is in (I think they call it transport mode or something like that) basically the eject button was deactivated at factory to stop people from stealing the sat nav disc,i got a 2014 disc but cant update

Got my Bluetooth device 5 mins later, dial sweep activated, blip on alarm lock and faults scanned and cleared. Had to pay for the full features but think it's worth it!

OMG it Worked. I'm the happiest Audi owner ever. Dial sweep and alarm chirp. Also enabled cornering fogs and considering fogs as drl once I have my ice white from trups
What else shall I enable

Did not see the option for cornering fogs on my 2010 sline?

Mine is a 2008 and I've enabled it.
Think it only does it at night when head lights are on though. Good for the country roads
Loving the chirp on locking and also enabled the signal flash when windows goes up via the key and brake lights flash and hazards when emergency braking

Have also done emergency brake light options will look at fog light option again tomorrow.

Had a play today and enabled gauges swip, passenger mirror drop when in reverse and bip when closing.

Do you remember what was the option called for fogs as cornering as I didn't see anything like it.

Pretty much did exactly the same as you, great minds and all that. :) I did ry on my mates MK4 Golf yesterday but it was a year too early so it didn't allow any customisations by it did collect fault codes. Still a very useful app hopefully they will extend the customise options at some point.
