Took a friend out for a blast up some roads in the French alps - he is cancelling his order for a Porsche macan!!

Macan seems to be mentioned frequently on this forum, just had a look at Porsche website, that is one hideous looking car in my opinion. Just can't see any beauty in any of the brands styling. Guy at my wifes work just traded in a Jag F Type for a Panamera, what is wrong with the world

I'd prefer a a Macan to an S3 although price-wise a RS3 is probably a better comparison.

It's not difficult to spec a Macan for £50k and the waiting list is a year long.

That's what my wife wants next, once we've finished with the A3 in ten year's time.

Macan styling is sublime. And have no doubt that it will handle on road better than 99% of all other SUV's in that class.

However - this week's Fifth Gear showed some pretty unpleasant handling characteristics (lateral hopping) on the limit - which did surprise me.

I test drove the Macan S about a month ago. It seriously impressed me in respect of pace, gearbox and handling. I would say I thought the cabin design is a bit uninspiring but it is very well made. It is on my list to replace the S3. It's a car that you have to see up close. Some pictures do not do it justice.

£50k with a modest spec - no discount, 9 month wait and 8% APR on Porsche finance. GFV was pretty high so the monthlies were reasonable.

Have seen one close up,it's a head Turner that's for sure,the leather seats where about 10" in depth!!!!!! Prefer the Porsche over a Range Rover full stop

Got to agree, parked my current SB next to a Panamera at the showroomm yesterday while I test drove an S3, and IMHO the Panamera looked pig ugly but do quite like the Macan not as much as the S3SB I just ordered of course.

Not a fan of the SUV styling - I'd compare it to the Q3 RS if anything as that seems the Audi equivalent.
