My DIY guide for Retro fitting Puddle Lights

yes you can use the same LED's on the puddle lights - they are the same light holders - and yes the kits fit the on the rear doors as well.

Thanks.

just wondering where you get you're wiring pins from. Just when ever I order from tps they come with yellow wires not coloured ie brown or red.

thanks

How much for the the necessary pins for the puddle and warning lights for all 4 doors for led lights and for the door control modular oo and the black pkugs for the led lamps. Or would you rather just supply the complete looms?

I don't supply the pins alone as they are very hard to get hold of - sorry.

hello. everyone. Could you please advice. I own A3 SB '08 (Europe) (2009MY) Controller: 8P0 907 279 N. Which pin's should I use. Pin 1 and 2 are not empty, 18 and 19 are empty. Can't find any info about my car. Thanks guys.

hi Robin looking for some info with possible purchase of one of your fine looms

I have a Audi A4 2.0tdi s line B7 avant on a 07 plate and have recently purchased some Audi ghost puddle lights that i wish to fit
(2pcs Car Projection Laser Led Shadow Light Logo Welcome Light Mini 4th Gen 5W | eBay)
when i got my mechanic buddy to fit them we couldn't find a power source or earth to run them from please can you advise me, obviously i wish for the lights to turn on and off with the opening and closing of the 2 front doors but will this require re-coding and will it cause and on dash bulb error warning ?
or do you supply a plug and play loom ?
appreciation sent in advance
regards Noz..........

Hi
Can someone please confirm the door module pins numbers for puddle and warning lamps. I already have a wiring in pin 1. I have a 2011 a3 sb

I can make the looms myself, I'll be in touch with you for bulbs don't worry it's just they come with the holders, so don't know if it would be more expensive buying the holders from Audi and the LEDs from you, are mk4 golf lights the same as they sometimes come up in the scrapyards?

Hi I'm going to fit my puddle and hazard lights tomorrow can someone confirm which colours go in which PIN numbers thanks

Hi I have a 2011 s3 sports back and am trying to retro fit the warning and puddle lights I've taken the door cards off and have the white connector but I don't have PIN number 18 and 19 I ave only 1,32,16,17. Does anyone know which connectors to use. Please

Ron.

You must have pins 18 and 19 as its a 32 pin connector...............

Ah I know what you have done - not all pins are numbered, you need to count from PIN number 16 across until you get to pin 18 and then pin 19 will be the one next to 18.......

that makes sense cheers. It's just that I did the footwell one, and the pins were all numbered so I couldn't work it out cheers pal

RobinA3,
I currently have an Audi A5 2009 in which I am replacing the full interior including door cards. The door cards I am fitting happens to have the puddle lights + side red lights, I really want to get these connected up( bearing in mind previous door cards didn't have lights ).
Can you supply details, or looms to get this correctly connected?

kind Regards

You'll just need the door wiring loom to connect the lights up - I can do these for £17.50 per loom per door plus postage.

Amazing! Great tut. Any chance of a vid tut? Would help sooo much

Just checking this is what the wiring for the puddle lights should look like
18 and 19

Well it looks like the same as in the video I posted. Are you about to fit them? If so pics and an instruction. Would be great Ron

Finally got around to installing these on my us spec 2009. Had to solder grounds on all four corners, no big deal. Looks fantastic! Something you could consiser is sourcing some male end pins and instead of soldering you could just plug the ground removed from the connector into the additional male end ground. And if there is no ground removed from the harness you would just take up the pin. Just a thought, i have no issues soldering but some might. Thanks again from the united states!

Hi Robin, I've just replaced the cloth trim in my wife's 09 tdi se with leather from a 10 sport line, the door cards came complete with the looms and puddle/side lights but after plugging the door card in they don't work, is it just a matter of switching them on with vag com?

I'm also interested in getting the footwell looms from you, how much work is involved in fitting them?

thank

Hi Robin, I'm really interested in doing the whole puddle, warning and footwell light mod to my 55 plate A3 Sportback.
Will it work in my car and if so what is the going rate for all the bits of kit that I'll need delivered to South Wales?
Thanks

Trying to fit these today and seems the light housing is a little too deep for the puddle light ... its hitting against the underside of the door pocket on my 2011 cabrio ... hmmm.

Can confirm Sportback pins as follows

Front -
Pin 18 = Live
Pin 19 = Ground

Rear -
Pin 1 = Live
Pin 2 = Ground.

Anyone know what the pin numbers may be for a A3 8V Sportback model?

In the 32 pin compartment in the door controller pins 18 & 19 are not there!
I don't have a wiring diagram so am not sure which ones to use and don't want to screw anything up.

Thanks in advance.

They are numbered at the ends - 1 at the top & 16 at bottom of the left column and 17 & 32 in the right column. The place where the male pins 18 & 19 would be just have a hole (no pin protruding). Therefore no electrical connection would be made even if I put the loom wires into the plug in the correct places.
I'm sure it's just a case of knowing which pins they have been changed to in this new model. Not many people have done mods on the new model yet so there's not a lot of knowledge around.
I'm hoping someone can guide me to a wiring diagram of the door controller 5Q0 959 593 B

Hi Robin, do you have kits for both doors on a 3 door 2011 S3 please?
