B8 Thinking About A New RS4 Avant

lol..
Ohhhhhhh that is surely a thing of great beauty. Gorgeous RS4 buddy!:cool::cool:

PS You been pinching ashtrays out of A3's? :laugh::laugh:

+1 on that my friend :thumbs up:

Lol...no I ordered it months before I had the car, just a little something to brighten it up. :uk:

The car took 10 months from order to delivery because of the exclusive paint and Ceramic brakes, but the wait was worth it. chuffed to bits with it. :racer:

Thanks for your comments guys. :respekt:

We also have this...

Thanks Mr Pulp, oh forgot two more options I didn't spec, the TV DVB set up and the Aluminium Paint pack to the front splitter and re diffuser.

Moschops - are you the same Moschops that was on A1 forum with A1 185?. If so I see the S3 was a suitable upgrade for you too along with the RS4!! I'm a ex-185 owner too....

Did I see Sepang Blue mentioned some where??????????????????

I'll just leave this in here ...

Hi Pulp yes I'm the same.....excessive oil consumption on the A1 and a few other niggles prompted a change...got an excellent deal on the S3 :thumbs up:

Are you still looking at the RS4? :kissmyrings:

So fellas, have you been so dazzled by an offer you can't refuse yet?

An update

I am quite astonished by the apathy of not only the Audi main dealers but the online brokers as to my interest in purchasing a new RS4

I have made in quite clear that am seriously considering purchasing one. I have no part x and I have a £12k deposit to go onto the deal

I am still, after 3 days waiting for call backs from a number of Audi main dealers regarding any proposed deals. Amazing for a £60k purchase!

I won't chase the Dealers. If they want to sell me a car, they can contact me back. Not even a courtesy call! & sometimes the motor trade as a whole wonders why it has a bad name!

Soooo after already wasting too much time on the 'RS4 scenario' as my wife calls it, I'm sticking with my S3 saloon :jump:

Thanks for all the input folks. Its all been appreciated :thumbs up:

& to @Pulp84 I hope you have more luck than I have had trying purchasing a RS4 buddy! :thumbs up:

I got better initial customer service from my local Ford dealer when I bought our daughter a new Ford Ka!

My local Audi dealer has informed me that throughout the Uk Audi dealer network, there are 181 (one hundred and eighty one) new and unregistered RS4's

Like the rest of the Audi dealers I have spoken too, no additional discount over and above a factory order one

Wonder why?

I can only imagine that sales are high on march cars, and audi will in time, closer to the next a4, have to do something to shift that amount. You would have thought a deal was there to be done though..

BH. if you want to see one first hand youre more than welcome to pop up :)

I've got a quote for DtD quote for the RS4 "Special Edition Limited Edition" whatever that means with 8k = 57k. Is that about as good as it gets as the moment or does anyone think it will get better in March? Suzuka looks nice but prefer Sepang being an old f..t

Is nobody on here interested in a new RS4 then?
I think its better value than the new RS3 is going to be at 45k basic OTR + options.

Yes all dealers have the 4K off if you take out the finance. I'd imagine a few more K should be very viable

Thanks, how far have you got, are you committed yet, or also waiting for the RS3 pricing comes out before going ahead? I see it also has the quilted seats.

Im still toying with the idea at the moment. Will probably have a look through the used market first but as I want the bucket seats I imagine there wont be much about.

What about yourself?

Ok, as I wrote I am awaiting the RS3 pricing first as at rumoured 45k it is too expensive.

Just took delivery of mine today, love it!!!!!

Its Panther Black Chrystal which is black with and Emerald & Blackcurrent flip (purple and green for those not selling Audi's lol).

I wasn't sure about the wheels but the Rotors are on everything so wanted some differenct that weren't the standard 19's, i ved them the moment I saw them this morning (14th Feb 2015), had it 12 hrs now and done 400 miles already!!!!

Every extra too

Black on black with optics is always a winner, and the V-spokes are definitely the better option.

Black on black is definately a winner. Lovely car.

How long was the wait?

The order was placed 19th Nov last year, it was a wedding present from my wife after getting married on the 5th Nov. The wedding present was actually her agreeing to sell her X5 and replace it with the RS4 as our main vehicale its a "bucket list" car for me. I still have a B6 S4 too, two Audi V8's in the driveway.

I wish my missus would take a leaf out of your wife's book.

Avoid DRC equipped cars unless you like a knock from your suspension! I have a 2 month old one after PXing my 6 month old S3 (fab car) and the knocking suspension is doing my head in!!

DRC shouldn't knock since the Gen3 dampers came out in ~2009. The C5 RS6 and B7 RS4 were both famous for leaking dampers and knocking suspension, but should have all been replaced by now. Are the B8s now experiencing the same fault with the new dampers too?

Absolutly agree, dealer ( Blackburn) have had a go at sorting but it is now worse that before at 4500 miles! I even have a letter from Audi UK to say this is a design feature!! Happy to upload the email from Audi.

EVO's test car had the knock, they returned it to Audi and it couldn't be improved, they run it for 000's of miles, its now common knowledge that they all knock sadly. I knew this before I pruchased mine.

If I had known before I would not have purchased the RS4, I would have stayed with the S3.

What causes the knocking?

This is the official explanation from Audi UK:

"Following a thorough investigation, I can confirm that the information given to you regarding the knock on your RS 4 suspension is correct.

I have spoken at length with our Technical Support Team, who have advised that this is the normal operational functionality of the DRC system fitted to the Audi RS 4. The noises are system related and are caused by a quick reduction of the oil pressure in the central valve during the shock absorber movement.

The noises are transmitted from the central valve via the pipes to the shock absorber. There is nothing that can be done in regard to this noise, it is a system operation, not a defect and does not affect the performance of the system."

TBH this is not acceptable, it really detracts from the enjoyment of what is otherwise an excellent vehicle, I am looking to get out of the RS4 ASAP.

I may well go for the new RS3 (my 2014 S3 was pretty good), go back to a Nissan GT-R (one of the best cars I have ever owned) switch to BMW (M3 or M5 and loose the AWD) or perhaps a Porsche with AWD.
