Brennan's A4 B8 Progress Thread

The best way to do it is measure where it is on an s-line then do the measurements on your own car. Make sure you use something like tigerseal

Hey pal, Quick question if you don't mind, I assume you had to remove the headlight units when changing the DRLs, did you have to break the plastic circle covers to replace the bulbs?? What do you use to 're-cover' the hole..

Any pics?
Anything mate?

Remove headlight, cut out the two sealed plastic circles, be careful not to cut to deep as wired are directly behind where your cutting, remove each bulb and replace with new ones, suggest you contact trups, site sponsor, for new bulbs. The four covers, two each light, can be purchased from audi. But brass your case for these by telling them how disappointed you are that a leading manufacturer would have such a messy set up to change a f***ing bulb, lay it on thick, I did and got them free.:audibash:
Finally replace headlights and enjoy your new look DRL's.
Simples, ;)
JG

No your ok lol I only put tape over them in the mean time, have to buy the covers yet

Debadged the boot today, much cleaner looking :)

Just stumbled across your thread mate. The motor is looking spot on, really smart without being over the top.

Got mine in November, it's a 2008 like yours.. bought it off a mate who'd only done 8k in the last two years and sold it because he never used it.. had plans for an RS4 grill and LED rears but it's just cost me £416 in two wheel bearings which has wiped the budget out for a few months! Just de badged the rear on mine, planning to give it a good clay and wax and paint the hubs and callipers etc..

Thanks lad, yea I wanted to keep things smart looking.

Not good with the wheel bearings, I had an unexpected bill too before Christmas but it was half yours. Throttle body went so it cost £200 from audi and then fitting after that. Need to give mine a good clay and wax too and paint the calipers but never got round to it yet lol

Hey Brennan, could do with some fog grilles to match your RS grille would set it off nice.
Thinking of doing the RS grille on mine, what do you think?

Thanks mate yea I'm looking out for a set of the fog grills but just haven't got round to it yet.

Yours would look great with the rs4 grill

Brennan, was thinking of trying to fit an S line diffuser onto my SE bumper, how bodged does it need to be to fit and look ok? Noticed you've fit one to yours with an SE bumper?

Thanks

I wouldn't recommend it mate, I wouldn't have done it only my car came like that when I bought it. There's screws everywhere into the bumper, it looks brilliant from a distance but you can see the screws when you bend down and look at it

Sorry for bump, lovely car OP

Did you just use glue on your side blades or did you screw them?
I'm in two minds what to do :(

Thanks lad, they are bonded on using tigerseal, they are solid so I don't think you could use screws

Ahh ok mate thanks, I got mine off a scrapper, and they appear to have a grey backing plate which I assumed you would screw on and then clip the skirt on to that

I stuck a spoiler on an old car with tiger seal but It scares me hahah, can see them flying off or when my mrs carelessly gets in and steps on them  !

I wouldn't recommend screwing into your sills mate, anything but that.

Don't worry, if done properly there will be no issues with tigerseal. It is the strongest bond and I have used it on all my cars with no problems, the blades on my car are rock solid with no flex

Did you ever find girls for s line number, not having any luck... Stupid thing is my 2014 A4 has grills that would match the RS grill but won't fit the A4 s line number grrrr
