Hi All,
I thought I would finally join the forum after a long time looking in for hints and tips when I was running my old BKD engined 2.0 TDI A3. Although a good car when sorted out, it wasn't without it's problems.
It got trashed by an old fella in a Fiat Panda at the start of October and for me, is finally a closed chapter.
Yesterday, I replaced it with a 3.2 S Line. I've been wanting one of these for a long time and set out to buy a TDI 170, so this was not even planned.

I'm looking forward to getting some happy motoring miles in now, can't get past turning the radio off so I can listen to the engine and my face has been sore with all the grinning, that's what owning an Audi should be like.

Greetings from Ayrshire Jakey, lovely motor pal, if your ever considering an exhaust change have a look at Magnaflow, I had the pleasure of listening to a 3.2 A3 with one fitted at Crieff car show this year and it sounded awesome.
Enjoy the forum.

Thanks JG, it came with a Powerflow system fitted, my son reckons they are custom built and not too shabby. Me, I'm a Janspeed/Scorpion type person, so that says a bit about how long it's been since I had anything that I could play about with.
Magnaflow sounds interesting though, I will need to investigate.....:icon thumright:

Jakey, I've got a son just like yours, sounds as if he knows his stuff, get him to do the research on the Magnaflow. ;)

Thanks Sandra. It's all been good so far and I have always found the forum very helpful before I was a member.
There are some seriously nice cars on here and great tips and advice.
I'll try and get along to some of the Scottish meets to put some faces to the names.
;)

Hey Stu, it's all been reasonably painless so far and I'm really enjoying the 3.2. I found out quite quickly that they don't like 95RON, so the first change was to 99 RON Momentum and it has been running sweetly ever since.
I set out to buy a TDI 170 but it was a big let down for an 08 reg Audi and had obviously been pranged. The 3.2 was only 15mins along the road from it, so I went for a look and was smitten instantly. As soon as it was fired up, well, that was it bought.
Always fancied a big engined A3 and I'm loving this one so far.
I hope we can have a blether at some of the meets and compare notes.

;)

The a3 3.2 was a car I new nothing of until I went to buy an r32 and the a3 was in the garage for about 4k less I got a better spec car and a better interior and most importantly the 3.2 engine so it was a no brainer, not many good ones out there so they don't get the respect they deserve, most people rate the 3.2 on the stinkers there mates mate has had or go by the cheap cat d high mileage ones on the auto trader, to this day my a3 it's still puts a smile on my face the sound and the downshifts in sport mode ( I have dsg ) the car ticks all the boxes and I've not been shown up by any standard s3's or vxr's or focus rs and I had a guy in an r32 showing off revving one day at the lights he obviously did not know what I had under the hood so gave him some of his own medicine his face was a picture I actually prefer the a3 look now to the r32 and I enjoy seeing people looking for an r32 when I drive past. The meets are good fun give me a shout if there is any Scottish ones going as I always miss the posts when they are organising

Very under rated car for what it is and I could never understand the difference in price between a 3.2 and an R32. It was a no brainer for me, I was never much of a Golf person anyway. I get what you're saying about the car putting a smile on your face, it never fails to make me smile, I only have to start it in the driveway and I'm grinning like a 17 year old.
I de badged my one just to throw a little bit more confusion at the 'have a goers'. I'm of an age to be behaving myself a bit more these days, but, four days one week in December, I was blitzed by a very tidy TTS on the way into work, on the fifth, I let him have it big time...!
He never did it again and the car was spotted on a local forecourt for sale the following week.

Even at 53, that gave me a big smile...!

If I hear of any meets, I will ping you a message.
;)
