When it kicks our butts in a year's time you'll want one!

I hope they sorted the gearbox out this time.

I really hope it doesn't look like this.
  • That rear diffuser is horrible, along with the front one too. Far too boy racer.
  • Black mirror caps? Why?
  • Those wheels were taken from the MK7 GTI....boring.

So I guess no manual transmission then?

That looks awful.....

Looks like the ugly love child of an 8V and an RSQ3. Really hope it looks nothing like that.....

EDIT: oh....it will look like that :(

Delete the Quattro emblem in the front grill and add option wheels and I will be first in the queue!

Worth changing from an S3 me thinks not.
OK it has a bit more grunt but worth an extra 30-40% over an S3? Good call on an RSQ3 from the front, wheels are pish but could i retrofit the exhaust (hopefully sports exhaust) on to mine?? As for 5drs and DSG only, not sure I understand why Audi do this.

Exactly what I was thinking. I Think the saloon will suit that styling better.

Would like to see it with different wheels, that's what's letting it down.

The A3 Clubsport should of been what the RS3 will be

Will be interesting to see what options you get as standard.

mono.pur ? :p

(In the last RS3, you had to spec the extended leather pack to get all the mono.pur bits, was it £810?)

(and £615 for a suede steering wheel, handbrake lever and gear lever/knob)

Totally boring, looks like any other "sporty" A3.

RS models should have different body work with flared wheelarches etc, not just different bumpers and exhaust tips.

This diminishes the brand IMHO.

I suspect with black pack and Nardo it might look slightly more appetising.....

Oh mono.pur should be standard me thinks :)

Hopefully it should be able to do the a45 and m135i properly, however 360 ps doesn't seem great seeing at you can get near it with MTM or a dtuk box in an s3

Yeah but that single number only tells part of the story.

Look at these graphs as an example:

8P RS3 (standard & mapped) : http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/RS3.pdf

and

8V S3 (standard & mapped) : http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/AudiS32.0TFSI300PSEPC.pdf

The standard RS3 makes more torque than the mapped S3 nearly everywhere and way more torque low down. It's only down on max power due to the mapped S3 holding onto it's torque at the last little bit of the rev range. If they've now tuned the 2.5 lump some more I'd have thought it will dominate the mapped S3 at all revs by quite some margin.

Plus 5-pots sound like sex.

Well i'll rather take a TTS then this, even if it's overpriced.

The rear valance is all wrong :audibash:

Needs a black styling pack too.

I'll wait for more information, but at the moment it is not getting me very excited or tempted to change from the S3.

Not impressed at all, looks more like the love child of an A4 allroad with an RS Q3 .. where are the wide arches, the hunkered down look .. it should look brutal not like it can do mild off roading ...

I'm clearly in a minority...

I actually like the looks and think it should be pretty subtle. Debadged (ah, that old argument) non-car enthusiasts will think it's just another smart looking A3, perhaps with bigger wheels. To me that's a big positive!

If you want brutal, dare I say you should be looking at the Golf R400?

I like it (apart from the wheels and the Quattro in the grill) - I especially the subtle looks - that really appeals to me.
What was everyone expecting? Focus RS or Civic Type R....?
This is Audi - the kings of subtle!

Ouch! The changes made to differentiate this from the S3 are....... How do you say this?.......hideous!

It looks like they gave it to my 17 year old neighbour. The front and rear valances look like they just shouldn't be there. And my boy racer neighbour would have done a better job on the wheels.

Very disappointing as this would have been my next car.

Maybe it will look better in the flesh?

I think it will look great in glacier white or sepang blue along with black styling pack! Highly likely be ordering one!

When I swapped my S3 for an A45 I was hoping that when the RS3 came out I would be tempted to go back to Audi. Looking at that I don't think I will. It's exactly the same inside as the S3 and it's just not aggressive enough. Wonder how much it will be? I reckon £45k easy for a mildly specced one. Where's the ****** box arches?!!
