Miltek is not much louder than std... deeper but not louder... non res versions are noisier and a decat will help but unless you have a map etc they won't sound loud at all

<tuffty/>

The car came with toyo sport de cat but didn't fit the de cat pipe was to small , so it's on standard cat ,and I got the non res , so when I get it remap and I done induction inter cooler stage 2 revo should sound louder

How is driving it around going? Open the Windows it will be louder .

Nope. Still not on the road yet. Had clutch and brake problems, car didn't make it to the track day. Hopefully next Saturday will be out and about if we are lucky.

that's mine, exhaust specs as per the description/title.
i too was disappointed when i fitted it but i had a really loud exhaust before hand. Once you have a downpipe on there, and you get used to it you'l love it trust me. So well refined, perfect balance of noise when flooring it and when toodling around.

haha someone called the cameraman a bellwhiff

So you would you say its worth spending the extra money ? For the decat and down pipe ? Should I get a cone filter on it I currently have a pipercross panel filter

For the power your aiming for you are going to want a 3 inch downpipe and decat to allow you that power. Most people seem to put the s2000 cone filters on they are huge which will prob give you a bit more noise. There is a thing in the stickies at the top about it. Is yours fmic?

worth it how? For performance or noise?

this thread has become confusing. You start with wanting 400+hp and you're doing a BT rebuild.
then you say you might keep the standard turbo. And now it seems you're wanting to upgrade all the standard stuff.
therefore how can anyone else say its worth it as we don't know what you have planned.
Quit upgrading the stock setup if you want to do the rebuild. If you're not going to do that, then carry on upgrading the stock setup.

/\ This.......is very good advice.

Too many people make the mistake of not working out what it is that they want, and how much that costs, before thinking of which shiny parts they want first.

Get a clear budget.

Include suspension and brake upgrades into that(If you're even thinking of a BT build,as you'll have a car that runs in straight lines but won't stop or corner).

Take advice from the best people around(and there are so many in this forum, like tufty,Badger,Karl and so on),and don't just go for a shop-bought package, when you can have better, from people who've done it before.

You'll save money, and get a better car into the bargain.

Thanks for tip I live in guernsey Channel Islands very difficult to get custom made anything , the island only 24 miles long , and like you said I'm going to get Porsche 911 calipers on front not sure on rear , going to change all my bushes to poly flex ones and they are a right time consuming job , arb braces ect.. and not 100% sure on coil overs yet ,so many things you have to do even befor you consider BT

Trust me...in this world, you can get custom made parts delivered to your door virtually anywhere, and I know the Channel Islands aren't the easiest to serve for builds, but it's worth doing properly.

I have a lot of parts delivered from the States, and they often get here faster than I could get them from the UK.

Even if you don't go the whole hog on a BT build, improving the braking and handling will enable you to get the most from the car as it is,as well as being ready for more at some point.

Il give you an example in myself.
modded the chassis first. Then following that i started with bolt ons, always having the intention of putting a hybrid ko4 on. At the time they weren't all that reliable and when my engine blew and came to my senses and bought a big turbo so i wouldn't be on the ragged edge for same sort of power. That left me with lots of stock upgrades that id paid top £££ for, that i now had to get rid of for a fraction of the cost.
bottom line i couldve been patient and bought a better quality BT kit than i have now, by spending money on that rather than bolt ons that i inevitably got rid of. Lesson learnt

Takes a lot to stand up and say that, and my hat's off to you,Sir.

I made a few mistakes with one of my Cosworths before finding the right guy some yrs back, and being taught a few hard lessons.

I still make a few wrong turns now,but hopefully not as often down to my own carelessness.

Go lcr brembos rear and not sure how great the 911 on fronts will be. Turx can make you exhaust stuff and a lot of other things.

Thanks a lot for the advice guys in my head not 100% sure if I want to do a BT build? But what I'm going to do 110% made my mind up is I'm first going for stage 2 build atmo so FMIC brakes exhaust brakes ... , different dv any sujjestions they recommend one on stage 2 ? I don't won't to rush into things because that's when corners are cut and then like you say you get problems

That's the right way to think about it.

Be ABSOLUTELY sure first,as there's no easy way back without wasting a lot of time and money, and going forwards requires a lot of time and money as well.

Anyone know we're I can get a milltek down pipe and de cat pipe ? non on Awsome gti were I got my exhaust from :(

The 1.8t gurus are tufty and Badger...see them first.

Yeah thanks I was debating that one as they sell it on awsome gti it's 280 pounds on their , It just would of been nice to have a full milltek but like you say been looking this afternoon they don't make like a straight through

Whats £280?... the Pipewerx decat is 340 and the sports cat is 540 on awesome GTI's website

Get a quote from Lucas or motor rewinds for fixing it. I suspect a new one is quite pricey. Just a cheeky one but Can you get any parts you need from work if you have a part number?

Might have to ring your work then. Annoyingly a small o ring is the reason ours isn't on the road at the moment 1K0721741 that's the part number.
