What have you done to your A4 b6 today?

Done a wee bit to mine .
Fitted mud
Black badges
Honey comb grill bumper one getting made
Seat skirt
Full scuttle panel
New mats
Still loads to do
Full service bit still have a oil leak grr

Avant-81...I'm looking at the upper Honeycomb grill on eBay, but i'm really struggling to find the lower in Honeycomb...Do you have the lower to suit?
 
A got bonnet grill of eBay . Am getting a lower one made same as top from body shop

PLEASE let us know the outcome!
I'm tempted to get a sheet of universal mesh and DIY it for the lower.

The standard grill size is 4cm x 1.5cm, but the largest I can find is 3cm x 1.5cm
 
A will do . A don't have a lower grill at all some one stole it , am trying to find a second hand one ,am getting the plastic mesh from another car boy at body shop dealing with it
 
Fitted my 320mm B7 brakes today
4 new brake hoses

GSF have genuine ATE hoses for £8.50 a pop so it was rude not to.
Advise shown on last years MOT.

Been out for an hour bedding in the brakes.
Stops better than my A3 did with 225 TT brakes.

This car was scary on the std 288mm brakes now feels superb on the 320mm kit

Fitted a new thermostat and cleared some historic fault codes and a bit of coding with my new vcds cable!
 
This weekend I did a little work on my A4 B6 1.9tdi

I debadged , cleaned and touched up some scratches.

I attempted to change the temp sensor, but it turns out mine doesn't take the standard 4 pin green one from the diy guide in here, but a black 2 pin one, which I've now ordered!

Also I filled up with diesel and put in a bottle of Cataclean diesel soot treatment version, then took it for a fast 25 miles on the motorway.

It may be in my head, but I'm sure I instantly felt some small difference to the pull and smoothness after the cataclean.

Loving this car so far and enjoying having a new project.

To do list:

Take to bodyshop for couple of big scratches
New egr valve and rear brake hoses
New alloys and new set tyres
Spoiler Lip
Blackout the grilles
Repair glove box hinge
Repair/replace centre console /ashtray
Touch up climate control with new stickers I've ordered.
Replace esp button
Fit double din cage
Fit double din Android 4.2 head unit
Fit seat nets
Get private plate
Consider Terracleaning

Took a trip down Midlands VW and got the full cambelt and water pump kit, temp sensor replaced, oil and filter swapped. Had a chat about maps too but unfortunately they don't touch custom stuff now (well not to my level anyway haha), tuner also referenced Karl (@desertstorm ) and his Passat/B8 which to be honest I was kind of expecting as the Passat was similar spec to mine and that's where he went.

Then went up north to meet Kev (@Lambster ) who is one of the nicest people I've met, not only was he nice enough to give me a wheel but was also offering drinks, a copy of his map and more which I've forgot, seriously feel in debt now haha everyone I've met from here has been real nice but people/gestures like this really make me have a new level of respect for the community, thanks again. I'll get some pictures up when it's fitted.

How much did they charge to do the work if you don't mind me asking?
 
Think it was around £405 all in which is a brilliant price, not sure exactly what each part was but cambelt and water pump was around £300, always tend to get something more for your money there though; this time I caught the mechanic putting a new indicator bulb in because mine had blown, also connected the aux fan back together... but I didn't really want that as now it's on permanently, obviously he was just trying to do me a favour though and I can easily get it back apart.
 
That's a good price tbf....yeah I had my coilovers fitted and tracked and they were cheapest by far... friendly as well, that's what you want as well they do that little bit more for you
 
Cut out and replaced one of the flexi's on one of the manifolds on our V6 and replaced both bottom arms

Is this a simple conversion? My brakes need an overhaul soon and as I've got some 19's now it would be rude not to go for bigger brakes

Very nice and love the wheels.............but who balanced them! There are too many weights on there for my liking mate and the wheels loo new too.

audi upgrades
Standard suspension? Only asking as it sits spot on and I've got some 19's for mine but will defo need to lower it or it'll look like its on stilts
 
Slapped my 10mm spacers on the rear this afternoon after doing some work on a friends beetle. Figured these wheels will be on until winter has passed now so they may as well fill the arches a bit better.

These are the same as the Mk4 where some 10mm spacers don't fit on the rear, and 12mm are recommended as the minimum size to fit.

As you can see here they won't sit flush to the brake disc



It's exactly the same reason as to why they don't fit on some Mk4's too, and takes all of 30seconds to get around.

All you have to do is pop the little dust cover off the hub with a flatheaded screwdriver.





Once they're off the spacer goes on fine.

They're S4 alloys mate, so 8j ET45 before the spacers.

I had these lying around from my summers, so thought it would be rude not to stick them on.
I've got a set of 5mm ones I'm going to stick on the front too, I just ran out of time as I needed to pick my son up from school.
 
They definitely look better with them on. I have et40 8j alloys. Considering 10mm rear, 5/8mm front.

Cheap reps till I decided which rims to get but I am taking it somewhere else because I don't like that many weights either I think they let the apprentice loose on them
 
It does look like a rookie was let loose as just by looking at the wheel..........a lot of the weights cancel their opposite out
