Hi folks was just wondering if the S4 is limited to 155mph as most performance cars in the UK are , what it is after picking up mine yesterday came across an old army airstrip in Northern Finland which forms part of the road so as you do decided to give it the beans and reached 260kmph . Was telling this to my Norwegian colleague and he says do you know how fast that is in miles .... no idea i said but he told me 161mph . Wow and it still had more but let off the gas . Also just found out the car was imported from Germany into Norway so thats what got me thinking maybe its been de-limited for the autobahns there. Any thoughts

From what I've heard(!) the speed limiter is not particularly accurate.
Neither is the speedo, at that speed it will typically over read by upto 110%, so at an indicated 161mph the true speed will be nearer to 146mph. Most cars with limiters will show speeds well over the 155mph limit even though in reality they are travelling much slower, which suggests the manufactures don't use the speedo reading to trigger the limiter. For a more accurate reading at high speed a GPS will generally be more accurate on a flat road.
Give it another go and let us know what it'll do !!

TBH buddy 146 mph will do for me lol , was just asking the question out of interest . Dont usually drive like a maniac haha but you know what its like .... new car , quiet straight road ;) . Its the way the car handles on the numerous twisty roads in Scandinavia that impresses me most.

I think I'd probably be more restrained than you if I were in Finland, I believe the penalty for speeding is much more severe than here in the UK.

Yes that's correct buddy , if your Finnish. What they tend to do up here for non-Finnish nationals is give you a fine based on how much you earn and escort you to the border and ban you from entering Finland again for six months but no points on your license. Also the nearest police station to the Norwegian border is about 250km away so not many patrol cars about lol , only thing you have to watch out for is reindeer
