Does anyone know where I can get a white boost gauge with a white or red back light to match the instruments in the A4 B5 1.8tqs 1999 model year, as I am looking into fitting one probably in the vent pod sometime soon.

Instead of starting a new topic, I'll post in here.

I've got a 1.8TQS and I'm wondering where is best to plumb in a gauge on the engine... and then also where to put it inside the car without it looking totally gash, and also how to route the feed pipe to the gauge from the engine bay to the cabin.

I have a 20psi gauge lying about from back in the day when I had a turbo diesel Peugeot 306, and I'd like to know what my TQS is up to in preparation for looking at a remap sometime in the future.

Best to get a 30psi gauge.

I run the glowshift one and its mounted in the centre vents in the one closet to the clocks, as for pluming its best to plum it in at the FPR or DV hose i did the FPR as its closest to the bulkhead and isnt as noticeable, then route it through the gromet that houses the servo pipe then through the one on ecu box down into the cabin to your boost gauge location.

I used to have a 30psi gauge but left it in my old 306 when I scrapped it last year! D'oh!

Right... so I T-piece it into the vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator?

I ended up following this guide: http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/complete-idiots-guide-to-fitting-a-boost-gauge-to-an-a4.122497/

I've plumbed the gauge into the feed from the manifold to the diverter valve.

I did have it on the FPR but it gave a huge vacuum reading when idling. It's half that on the diverter valve feed.
I also replaced the hose on the FPR and trimmed the hose on the diverter as the end of it looked a bit frayed. After trimming the frayed bit off, I attached the T-piece plus a short new section to the manifold.

I'm getting a reading of about 10-11 psi peak which goes down to about 8-9 higher in the revs. Seems alright...
