Would you believe that when I got back to the car, there was an old C class Merc next to it

I don't know why they have to park there when most bays are empty!

A few bays from me there was a black S5 pre-facelift coupe though, and I saw a new white S5 convertible. That's a lot of S5s in a day for me! Usually see none

I would, I parked in IKEA with 100's of spaces around me and came back to find a Clio parked practically on the door.... nothing else anywhere near!

My parking strategy is to go for an end space and park as far over (but within the lines) as possible to the side that no one can park on. That way (in theory at least!) someone should easily be able to park in the next space with minimal risk of door dints.

I don't like parking over two spaces as I think it make you look a self important tw*t - but, that said, I do understand why people do it. I'd be mortified if I ended up on this (NSFW - quite liberal use of the C-word so don't visit if offended) site.
