How Accurate Was Your Estimated Delivery Date?

When ordering I was told to expect it to be delivered late December, how accurate did you find your estimated delivery times Compared to actual.

Was quoted 31st July, but car actually arrived just before the end of June - just as we were leaving on holiday, so delayed collection until our return.

Was told Sept/Oct, but took forever to get an actual BW (finally BW29), but with an ETA of the boat docking in Port Kembla on the 27th of Sept, late Oct looks more realistic timeframe now.

I was told mid Feb but picked it up mid Jan 14 so a full month early!!!

In my case it was call up the dealer and check on build date and then was given the vin number, so we can track to the car once the shipping line has it.

First quote was mid July, then told 6 weeks later that I'd get a confirmed build week in mid July. Order cancelled. Went to a different dealer, and told mid August. Arriving tomorrow, 19th, and picking up on 1st Sept. So pretty close. Not helped with it being an S3 Saloon

Mine was later... estimate given as 3 months, trade-in agreed on this basis, and prospective spec-amend build week given. Actual build week is 5 weeks later, now confirmed, and this will mean overall time is somewhere between 4 - 4.5 months. I will have to be more sceptical of salesperson promises in the future... or go to another dealer!

For reference my order was placed at the very end of May.

Pretty much spot on for me, a wait of all of five weeks.

Mine was two months late so the dealership gave me a q3 to play with, hated the thing...

Ordered and told there and then in the dealership would be build week 11 (ordered the first week of January).

They than rang me the following Monday morning to say the order would be week 20!

Over the space of 3 months it got brought forward to week 17. Mine was exactly 4 weeks from build to sat on my drive.

use the Cargo ID field only, using the Vin number.

the Dealer was happy to give the vin number, which was available only after the car was built. Before then the dealer used the order number to track the build dates, which I had to chase him for.

Exactly on target. Picking it up this Thursday, ordered it may 31.

Order placed 02-Feb-2014 with an expected delivery of end of April.

We picked it up on 22-Mar!

Luckily we had sold our previous X5 on 19-Mar, so we were only without a car for a few days - we hired a Golf SE for the interim.

I was told 10 weeks from the date of placing the order, but my S3 came in just under 9 weeks.
