Gotta Crack In My Sump!

Hi all gotta s reg 1.8t that's got a tasty oil leak. I've been spraying with cleaner and found a crack in the sump near the plug, gonna go breakers yard, do other audi or vw have same sumps and gaskets or sealant etc
Any tips welcomed

Search Volks bits on google new sump is 25 quid they also sell the sealer or look on ebay at the seller

I also recently suffered a "crack" in my sump, literally around the plug! lol


No gasket available, any RTV sealant should be good, use it sparingly though! . . Worth mentioning that some earlier 20vt sumps don't have a hole for the oil level sensor. Make sure you know which one you're buying!

Crickey that is a crack!
Mines only about an inch long, but don't know if it's the main cause of oil leakage, I get a lot from above the rear of the engine, I'm wonder if at speed the oil could be spraying out of the crack and swirling around the rear? I've also got a split breather hose at the front which also sprays on to the fan! Don't think mines got the oil sensor

The ones without the oil level sensor hole still fit and you can get a sensor blank for a tenner

I have taken this picture also with 4 different sumps gets annoying after smashing 4 lol

Didn't manage to find a sump but did find a proper dipstick tube and charcoal filter pipe.
What's ppls thoughts on a crack in the sump causing oil behind engine but higher than were the crack is?

Cheers tufty, wonder if a retro fit is poss for a oil sensor. Think the crack is bigger than I thought needs sorting this week or it'll be bye bye engine!
