Hi All,

Hoping you can help me. I have a B6 A4 1.9 TDi Avant with a Multitronic CVT box that has seen better days (although the car is low mileage and mint). I also have a C5 A6 1.8T Avant with a Multitronic CVT box. The A6 is a wreck but the CVT box is excellent (having been rebuilt by Audi ~20k miles ago with two oil changes since) so I was wondering if I could use the box out of the A6 to fix my A4 and if the boxes are interchangeable, what would I need to swap over with it (ECU, etc.)?

Many thanks in advance.

Dan

A quick look on Vagcat suggests different part numbers for Auto boxes. I only guessed the years of both vehicles and no match came up. That's not to say it won't work. But the main difference is petrol / diesel variants. This will have different ratios.

You need to find the right ratios
Some are short boxes, some long

I currently have a dead A4 saloon (the mrs' car), the box (CVT) isn't happy on that ...... Can't find a used one with the right code anywhere !
