Um, I think you're thinking about Visual Representation of the Parking Aid:

This is NOT what I'm talking about, as I am not installing sensors. Hence, I'm talking about activation of the rear view camera video display with dynamic help lines:

Based on the Kufatec info, some coding is required and I'm wondering if anyone has done this for an A3. Kufatec sells a coding dongle, but if I can do it via VCDS, this is preferable.

The onboard supply control unit, you have the option the Audi A3 8V to activate the fog lights (NSW) in addition as cornering. With active low bema, the rispettive front fog lamp is thus driven in accordance with steering angle and thus provides additional illumination when turning. Audi does not use VCDS, they use VAS and this is a completely different system.
Now I'm totally confused as I thought the link was for VCDS on the 8v? The menu items were present but they seemed to be in a different order? We just couldn't see the actual line of code to change...
I'm thinking this might be the case as all the menus were present although they seemed to be labelled slightly differently. Going to try A N Other place today to see if I have better luck.

Does anyone know if it is possible to show the current gear number in the DIS when in "D" or "S" like you could do with the B8?
example: so instead of just "D" it would display "D1" for 1st gear.

Does anyone know if there is a way to removal the numbers from and display of the volume. I know it's a little OCD but I have to have it on set values otherwise it winds me up. This didn't happen on the 8P and I loved it for it.

I got this done by my dealer for free. You could always ask them to do it as part of the PDI? Plenty of people here have done the same since I got mine done without an issue.
Steering assist could potentially be a very useful module though, if it can stop the lane assist turning off all the time on straight bits of road!
Yes, I was aware various people on here did that, and despite preferring to be able to do it myself if possible, I had asked the dealer to do it at PDI, however that's no longer necessary, as per arad85's reply I'll be doing it myself :

Yes, it's a setting in the MMI.
Well, it folds on lock and unfolds on ignition on - better that way IMO. If it did it on unlock it'd just be whirring away every time you went to get something from the car without driving it!

This is only with the memory mirrors. Unless there is a menu I can't find. I only have the electric folding mirrors.
