Hi people hope you guys can help out my car failed its MOT on Tuesday because the ESP light is on the dash, i wasn't too worried about it before but looks like ive got to get it sorted for the MOT. i dont really want to have to paty for a restest so if i can get it sorted within the 10 days would be great. I had it plugged into VAG a while ago it showed fault Break Pressure Sensor 1 (G201) fault code 01435. Now i understand its a new ABS pump that is needed what are my options basically? Can i change it myself then take it to get it plugged in to program it through VAG or will i not be able to drive it untill its programmed? or Can i just take the ABS ECU off the pump and send it off to ecutesting.com for repair or is it the pump that needs repairing? any help would be appreciated Thanks Mark

There is a repair kit available from the main dealers.

Ah ok cool is this a repair i could do or does it have to go to them to have it done? any idea how much these repair kits cost?

If i was sat back at work I could tell you how many were sat on the shelf at every VAG dealer in the country!

I'll punch it in tomorrow if you want and give you an idea of price.

Cover cheaper aspects before using the repair kit. Probably have to do some sort of basic setting once installed, but I'm not 100%.

Ie check your brake switch isn't jammed etc

Yeh ok if you could that would be Great is it something that can be fitted by myself or would it be a main dealer job? Many Thanks

I don't physically fit the parts. I sell them! So I'm not sure.

I'd be inclined to take it to a VAG independent. What's your location so you can be directed appropriately.

Yeap as above, repair kit needed.

Sorry for late reply I'm in Somerset I've just rang an Audi specialist for a price but if I can I'd rather try and do the repair kit myself

I've had to have this ABS kit put into my car, the 1K0698517B unit, back in November 2020, due to the pressure sensor error. With Covid lockdown, I have barely been driving, I've literally driven 300 miles in the last 4 months.

The ESP light came back on as soon as the ABS had been fixed. Only now, with lockdown ending, am I getting round to fixing this.

My local garage has just run diagnostics, using Ross Tech, and its now reporting error code 01324, and 00003 and 02248.

On Ross Tech, 01324 has a possible cause "incorrect coding of ABS module" (amongst others), 00003 has a possible cause "control module software issue" and 02248 is starting to look more physical, with either "fuse faulty" or "control angle faulty".

What would anyone recommend, please? I guess the first thing to rule out is that the error codes are due to incorrect coding of the ABS module. How do you correctly code the ABS module? Which garages around Warwickshire UK would anyone recommend for getting this fixed.

Which side of Warwickshire? If you can get over to midland vw in Cannock.

Where about in Warwick? Gaydon/Leamington?

Do you have the old module so it can be plugged in and old coding read off?

I am just going to the Haldex work done, makes sense to not second guess the Ross Tech output. Its just bad luck that both the ABS and Haldex have had problems at a similar time.
