Living in **** for 4 years, I found something that was so annoying, and that is the whole notion around 'saving face'. I reckon something embarrassing has happened and they are badly trying to cover it up. Pilot was probably high, drunk or fell asleep. As it hasn't hit anything on the ground and is most likely in the Gulf of Thailand, it was probably still climbing and isn't that one of the most dangerous times for planes? After doing around 50k air miles being over there and living in various countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and visited Burma a few times), and a few ****-eyed landings, it's safe to say I'm not looking forward to ever getting on a plane again.
The lack of a care for life is insane over there. Death doesn't bother them as the 'after life' is supposed to be so much better, people jump out in front of trucks to try and get compensation for their families and we often saw dead bodies were on the freeways.
I might sound like I'm generalising but I've seen first hand in many Asian countries that this is the case. The majority of them are retarded, in my opinion and experience. I'd hazard a guess that this 'missing' plane is something very embarrassing for Malaysian Airlines. I hope I'm wrong. I first heard the story on the radio while driving and me and the missus felt instantly sick at the thought of it. I feel so sorry for the families of the passengers.
