Anyone now what levels of tint i can have on the front/back according to the law?

Options i have to buy from: 5% limo, 20% dark smoke, 35% light smoke or 50% ultra light smoke or 70% supre ultra light smoke?

Cheers! :)

All modern cars come with a factory tint. So basically, to stay legal, anything forward of the B pillar, is no tinting at all, and anything behind the B pillar can be any level of tint.

Why bother? Most after market tinting looks pants, IMO of course.
its called gangsta glass Dave, and to be 'down' on the streets one must meet this criteria. Which is why I have a dark smoke on my back windows, and also wear my pants a lil low

I assure you i wear my trousers in the correct position and would like tints as my children travel in the back and i would like to reduce sun glare on long journeys. Plus it's well cool init!

other advantages too:

1. security - thieves can't see what you got in the back seat and the glass is harder to smash with the film
2. reduces glare if you have any young children sitting in the back seats

A good brand of film will block 99% of UV. Plus window film keeps your car at a good temperature. Window tint is not for everyone but if you like it and it will benefit you or your family go for it. Factory levels which come with the rear glass tinted more than the front are around 15% to 35%. The lower the percentage number the darker it is as the number represents visible light transmission not the darkness.

3. You can get wild with the mrs and no one can see in

I just can't run away from the law with my pants just below my **** . How do these youngsters run away from all the trouble they start . So dark tints are perfect for rumpy pumpy with the wife or somebody else's .

Have to admit that I'm ashamed to admit I got this last week for the golf :(

Maybe me just being ignorant but really didn't think they were that dark and dont care about them as were on the car when purchased and happily offered to remove them

Anyhows expensive lesson learnt

It was in London going through the blackwall tunnel, you can very mildly tiny the side windows but suspect a lot of places are weary of doing it incase they take it behond the legal limit with manufacturers having different levels of tint as standard
