Which, for those who don't know French, means "Wednesday"

or

as we are all driving German cars "Mittwoch"

Not quite correct Dave! Get a grip.... Wednesday night ;-)

300 miles and hitting The Chunnel. 35mpg including some 'booting' it and back road driving.

I don't see running in as an easy thing. For starters in S mode or dynamic the car will rev round to the limiter....

I know the manual days run in (no more than 2/3 rev range) to 1500km, but I don't think it's possible with an auto box.

Nice. I've explored the limiter already but only a couple of times. Most driving was on ACC.

Yes, derby audi

Have to agree impossible in S and dynamic --- (closer to 15mpg there!). Not had time to read the manual yet, suppose I better had ;-)

I'm surprised there's not been a lot of pics today

Well if you had the choice between driving your new beauty or uploading pics on the Internet - which would you rather do? :)

Yes, even if you are in S mode, just change up early using the steering wheel paddles so it doesn't go above 4-4500 rpm !

Then the box will revert back to auto if you leave it alone for 20 or so seconds, or press and hold the "+" paddle to revert it back to "S Auto".

not bothered running mine in - switched to dynamic and have achieved an overall mpg of 17.8 mpg :)

I would have though 4k rpm is where they are stating, but I've had a few runs all the way to the top.... In 1st, 2nd and 3rd.... It's addictive and the car just revs - I am trying though and plenty of motorway, where the revs are a little higher than in was expecting.

They could have squeezed a 7th gear in there...

One tank done, BP ultimate was only fuel available.

Read your own manuals ;)

Listed on the s3 register thread ......

Wow man... You have not been idling around - 500+ posts...

But, it does sound a lot interesting. And now I look much forward to my delivery in 11 days.

Only thing I could see that could cause the globe-acc is the parking system, that is the only difference compared to my car.

I assume you have not opted for the extended acc (from 150 to 200 km/h max)???

I think you will find that's actually side assist - but am guessing you didn't spec that either!

My salesman told me they were sending no less than 6 S3's out this weekend alone. I spent the first 10-15 miles last night in 4th gear flooring it from 1000rpm to 4000rpm and then letting it slow down again, sorry if you had to avoid me on the M25/23 last night! Got bored then and just booted it the rest of the way home (didn't take it above 5000rpm though). Planning to stay below 4000 until 1000 miles now.

The car is away at the detailer's having the full Gtechniq C2/Exo treatment until tomorrow morning, will try and get some pics posted then.

All of the salesmen took great pleasure in telling me that my choice of colour is now an Audi exclusive option only.
