OE led taillight conversion

quick question
I have used coding from RS5UK (from the post on here)
what I need to work out is the outside light wiring ( I have 3 at present, being an se car, have one for earth one for indicator and 3rd one for brake and tail light) how do I stop the tail light and brake light on the same wire. I take it I need to change another code ?

Has anyone made the loom yet ? I've just bought some lights and looking to get this done soon
 
theres no loom needed if your going from standard filament bulb lights to pre facelift led lights just some coding with vcds .
 
Lush , do you happen to have the pre facelift led rear light part numbers for a avant ?

Mine are in the post but just want to make sure they are correct
 
I've just managed to convert my 58' non LED lights to the 2013 allroad rear lighting setup.

Fully working, no fault codes.

Here is a 50:50 to Show the difference

This all seems a little over the top to me? and complicated mess about:think:I just bought a set of plug & play leds online, apart from keeping the back plate from the original's they went straight on with no issues. :cool:And they are spot on!

Right mine have just turned up and went to find and found the plugs to be different

My part numbers are
Left outer 8k9 945 095 b
Left inner 8k9 945 093 b
Right outer 8k9 945 096 b
Right inner 8k9 945 094 b

So are these face lift ones and will I need the adaptor loom ?

Hi All.

Somewhat new to this. Have made quite a few mods to my car that have all been cosmetic of easy so far.

Looking to do the rear taillights. I have MY10 S4 Avant with pre FL LED.

I have sourced some FL LED's from ebay (£200 - think I got lucky!).

I was wondering if RS5UK was still about and if he could assist. Sounds like you did exactly what I am looking at doing. I just wanted to confirm if 'new' coding (as listed further up the thread) is what I should use.

I've now got a set of rear 2013 LEDs, does anyone know where I can get an adapter to go from 2011 to 2013 LEDs?

I'm still struggling finding the adapter, LHD or saloon no problem but RHD Avant just doesn't seem to be out there and I'm not technical enough to start wiring things myself....

They are correct for pre-facelift Avant lights.

Hi mate,

I have just upgraded my RHD S4 Avant and we just ordered up the FL plugs (≈£10), cut the cables and fitted. There are a few things I should mention:

1. When coded as best we could do - everything works fine (no faults) BUT - when you press the Brake with NO lights on, the brake light AND 'lower tube bar (standard rear light) come on together. Obviously when at night or you have the lights on - there is no difference. We couldn't find a quick way around this short of replacing the light modules which obviously incurs cost of modules + 3-4 hours labour.
2. You DO need to run an extra wire on both sides as the indicator bar is in both parts where it wasn't before (Pre FL LED).
3. We had to do a bit more research on the coding but got there in the end so the guys mentioned below know exactly how it's done.
3. To swap out, fix the connectors and code up takes about 2.5 hours'ish allowing for a bit of faff time. This does NOT include running the wire as we did this at the same time as installing the Reversing Camera but would suggest adding an hour or 2 to the job. Having said that - now we have sussed out the pinouts and coding - should be faster for the guys to do.
4. Depending on where you are in the country - speak to Greg (owner) @ HazzyDayz. Google them. These guys are Audi Retrofit specialists. Have used for a few bits and they are smashing. Mention me (Oli) to them and see what they can do.

If anyone knows the coding to resolve the Brake issue - would love to hear. Not overly bothered to be honest but if it can be done via coding and without replacing modules - will do for sure...

Having now done it - if anyone needs any details - happy to help or as I said - give the guys at HazzyDayz a buzz.

Hi,ive just fitted the rear led tails to my b8,now the inner led's dont work when i brake + im getting bulb out errors on the dash,do i have to go to audi for coding or is possible to do it myself? i have full version of vcds (vag-com)

Thanks i coded them last week.....my coding was different to the one listed,i Changed Channel 183 to0 that got rid of all the bulb out errors........etc

 
i was guide by someone to do that........does this mean if i blow any bulb,i. e reverse/indicator bul or an led i wont get any warning?

Hey guys,
I am interested in coding for an avant, conversion from pre-fl led tails to fl led.
So just to be clear, the coding posted by RS5UK from post #23 is for limo or avant, convesion from bulb to pre-fl led or bulb to fl led or pre-fl led to fl led?
Same question for post #31, these are what I need?....any update for channel 204?
