I ordered a 1.4TFSI in Amalfi white on Friday with the only extra being SD Satnav, then came to this forum on Saturday and by Monday I was on the phone to the Dealer adding on the panoramic sunroof and Glacier white paint job.

Now my question is should my salesperson be emailing me a new copy of the order form? Should I ask him for one? It seemed like a very informal phone conversation to add £1,500 worth of extras to the car, and I have no proof of that conversation if the car now arrives underspecced..

He also hasn't given me an estimated date of delivery everyone here seems to know their Build week etc. My salesperson was only 19 so I'm thinking its a case of him being new but I feel very sketchy at the moment.

:(

Your order so your requests for an amended order form and any other requests relating to your order should be fulfilled to your satisfaction. No ifs no buts.

Audi have a massive reputation at stake all the time and dealers have an obligation to meet the standards set by Audi AG, failure to do so comes with financial penalties which is why they employ independent agencies to monitor the customer service they offer constantly.

That is true I guess. I'll phone them tomorrow and ask for my order form and hopefully a more concrete date of when I should actually get my car.

I went through two rounds of adding to my spec. On both occasions I was emailed a revised order within a couple of days to be signed and returned. I ordered on a Saturday (I think), by close of play on Monday I had a build week allocated which subsequently came forward by a couple of weeks. The dealership didn't have any allocations left at the time but did manage to steal one from another Audi dealership within the same franchise network.

Which dealership did you order from?

I can think of a lot more extra's I'd spend my money on before a pano roof...

The pano roof is nowhere near as nice as it was on the 8P so would spec alternative options if I were you.

What would you spec before the roof? I did it because I liked the look of the black roof against the glacier white.

B&O sound system and led headlights if you've gone for sline.
B&O sound system and black styling pack if you've gone for sport variant.
B&O sound system if you've gone for SE and save the rest of the money Imo

id pick the Sline over an SE with panroof anyday

I love the advanced key, think that is £400 and and adaptive headlights are amazing aswell (non LED)
I wouldnt go with the basic sound system, either get the next one up or the B&O

I'd say that the sound system, and the LED lights aren't really essential either. The B&O is only worth the money is you spend a lot of time listening to music other than what's on the radio and the LED lights might better if you do a lot of dark county roads. You can get an idea from some of my spec what are practical...

panoramic roof?
S line any day, better seats wheels, etc etc.....

Just to clear up any confusion, I've got an SLINE with a Sat Nav + Glacier White + Pan Roof

Xenons come as standard I believe which is the only other thing I would want.

I don't do a lot of motorway driving so cruise control isn't for me, I'm not 100% sure what the advanced key does either.

You might want to consider the comfort pack, it doesn't just give you cruise control but automatic lights and windscreen wipers, acoustic glass (reduced noise), auto dimming review mirror and rear parking sensors. The acoustic glass might be good with the pan roof to reduce overall noise. It just makes an Audi feel like what it's supposed to be...

Another vote for Comfort Pack. I think it really is a must have, if only because it includes all the things you would expect the car to come with as standard anyway.

Worth spending some time watching a few reviews. There is a pinned post above to get you started.

Panoramic roof looks amazing and gives the car a much more airy feel due to the black roof liner fitted to the S Line. I think you have a great spec but would add the comfort pack as it really is value for money.

Options and colours are personal choices, so stick with your panoramic roof and glacier (I agree the black and white combo looks great).
Other folk will just tell you that the options they have selected are the ones you want.

I ordered my car a few weeks ago and apparently it goes in to production next week, and I don't think I've signed a proper order form yet. I did sign a print out of the spec I wanted though, and he said at some point we'll email the order form to you to sign. Is this normal??

This.

Did you order cylinder on demand (cod) 1.4 engine or the standard one ?

Had to go with the standard for Insurance reasons and I drove the standard one and it didn't seem to sluggish.

Ok :) COD saves you a bit on petrol and road tax (I think it's around 20 quid per year) - but it seems that you've done your research.

You may want to check out the storage pack too. There isn't a whole lot of storage in an A3 as I found out when I went to put something in the seat back storage pocket and found that there isn't one! I think this is a cheap option - £80 rings a bell.

I would agree with the other guys. You definitely will want to upgrade the stereo from standard. I have the Audi Sound System and it is way better than the standard system. Well worth the extra £250 IMO.

Storage pack is standard on S line ;)
Hyosung - just thing what options you would ACTUALLY miss or use on a daily basis - most guys here are undercover dealers and push for extra options ;)

Sounds like you'll have an awesome car!

I believe the advance key is where you just need the key on you and have a start/stop button, no key needed in an ignition barrel!
