Who collects on 1st March 14?

Well I got an email from my dealer this morning. Car is complete and at the docks waiting for the ferry. Not long now.

There are two of the car carrying ships that Audi and VW use in the port of Emden at the moment so hopefully one will be it's way to Tyne very soon.

The Viking Costanza docked at Sheerness a few hours ago from Emden. Not sure of it's carrying VAG cars as it doesn't have 'Highway' in the name but it is listed as a vehicle carrier.

The City Of Rotterdam vehicle carrier has not long left Emden heading for Tyne. I wonder if my car will be sitting on it. I hope so.

Picking up the wife's Q5 on the 1st March.

This ship delivered my Audi to Sheerness last week....

It may be that there are so many new cars coming from Emden to the UK that VAG are using other companies as well as the KESS line ships.

I've just had a look some pictures of the Viking Costanza and it does have a large K on the funnel so perhaps KESS have been shopping for some more car carriers to meet the demand as they deliver to quite a number of other ports around Europe as well as the UK.

If you are accessing the website Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions - AIS Marine Traffic to see what ships are leaving if you go the the map of Emden port - the first part of the way in is marked Emden-Borkum and the left-hand side is where the vehicles are unloaded from the trains, stored and then loaded onto the ships. Just now when I looked the were two other ships moored, African Highway and Seven Seas Highway. Seven Seas Highway I think is used to take cars to the USA.

are all cars that are ordered from the uk delivered to the same port, if not anyone know what port cars going to plymouth would be?

AFAIK, they come in via Sheerness, Grimsby and Tyne. I would've thought that your car comes via whichever of the three is closest to your dealer however according to PilotAudi (Ordered from Bristol dealership) his is coming via Grimsby. I ordered from Epsom and they confirmed Sheerness. Your dealer should be able to tell you.

Well my car must have been on that boat. Dealer informed me that they're expecting the car to be delivered to them this Friday. Going to pop over and see it sometime next week.

My dealer's fielding the idea of a midnight collection. Depends on how many of us show an interest.

My S3 is build week 5 - next week. I was hoping for a 1st March pick up - but salesman will only commit to "early March". Not a great issue for me either way but it would be nice.

Nice one !

You must be starting to get excited now ... you got that garage finished yet ?

Just had mine confirmed for March 1st from Glasgow Audi. Was build week five but they had said mid March. So pretty happy!

Mine arrived in the UK last Friday according to the dealer... Asked him to call as soon as it arrives at there site as I am dying to go and have a butchers!!!

So quite an eventful day for me. I popped over to the dealership and they took me to the storage compound to see my new car. Started it up, checked that all the options I ordered were present and correct and generally had a bit of a fiddle with the various bits and bobs. The protective wrappings were still on the car so I asked them to leave them on until the last possible moment. I was given the owners manual to take home with me and then on returning to the dealership allowed to take an R8 out for a spin. Jeez, what a monster of a motor!

When I originally made the appointment for a test drive, I rocked up in a beaten up 1996 Nissan Micra sporting a week's worth of facial hair with my 4 year old in tow. They didn't bat an eyelid. The girls on the reception desk clucked around my boy like mother hens and furnished him with a hot-chocolate and some biscuits while we waited for the car to be bought around front. Given that in Audi terms, the value of my order is small-fry, I can't help feeling very impressed by the efforts that this particular dealership has made to look after me from the get-go.

Phoned the garage today and seems they forgot to tell me my car had arrived (didn't even know it had shipped ). Now arranged to pick my saloon up on Thursday! Can't wait! £500 to convince me to take it this week so no 14 plate for me.

Which dealer are you talking about. Good to know about dealers who care about their customers.

Just heard my S3 was born at end of last week and has passed inspection and is at Emden awaiting shipping :)
I not sure it will be here in time for 1st March collection but am happy to go with the flow!

Booked in on 1 March at 09:00. Was build week 3 so should be well on its way to the dealer (if not already there!) Didn't want to hear that it had arrived as I would be tempted to take it there and then.

Went to view mine tonight... Build week 5 arrived @ dealers today. It's so difficult to stick by my decision to wait until 1st March!!! There was 4 in total in derby Audi car lot... I know that one of the others is Itguy's, anyone else wanna claim them? One grey and one red... Couple of photos of mine anyway...

Thanks mate... I did have a quick look at all four and they all looked good, no plates on any and still chalk pen reference numbers so I think we can rest assured that they won't be getting used for demos. Think I might find it hard not to pop in each weekend now... Pointless though I know, as I can't do anything apart from look longingly at the car and wish for the 1st!!!

Build week 5 and at dealers already! That must be some sort of record - Or had it come forward a build week or two?
Either way it is good news - bet you cannot wait - of all the patient waiting a lot of us have endured - the last few weeks will probably seem the hardest!

I know... I had a phone call on Friday of week 4 to say it was in production then phoned them on Monday and they said it was in the UK. Then they called me yesterday to say it was here. It will definitely be a painful wait now though. A tiny bit of me wants to collect it now but then I want to get a 14 plate on 1st March so I won't let myself cave!!

Picked my new Saloon up this morning. Absolutely delighted with it, it's a really beautiful car. Can't post pics using my phone so will upload later.
