Some of you have expressed some interest in my Ski trip recently.

So I figured, why don't a load of us go from here?

The plan is, holiday starts 25th January(Sunday) and we'd be there for 1 week.

The cost of this holiday can be gradually paid throughout the year.

£100 to secure your holiday, then its up to you to pay the rest, either all at once or £50 here and there.

(must be paid up 12 weeks before)

Champagne provided 1st night.

Total for Chalet would be £415(inc deposit) (slight increase over this year).

That would include ****** breakfast, cereals and croissants in the morning.

Lunch you find out on the mountain.

Afternoon tea, freshly made cakes and handmade biscuits, french stick - jams etc.

3 course meals every night, white and red wine provided at dinner at no additional cost.

Thursdays are staff days off, they still provide breakfast and afternoon tea. Restaurants nearby are excellent.

Ski pass- £240 (7 day pass, Espace Killy, ie the entire mountain range, roam free)

Weather information for Tignes

Piste Map in the above link.

The chalet company is called "Ski Bonjour" Chalet France | quality ski chalets in France for your skiing holiday

I've been to them now for years, used their Bonjour Bonjour chalet most occasions.

This time i used Bonjour Colettine, and I'd say this is better here. Really close to the bubble lift too, so ****** all walking!!

Their website image of this place makes it look dated, its really not, its all modern and wood cladding inside.

If your driving, its 850 miles each way(from Worcester), 620 miles ish from Calais, France.

So budget for that in fuel cost. Also Toll roads, budget £70 each way for those too.

Otherwise you can fly out here, or catch a lift with someone who is going.

If we can get at least 10 of us, we can get exclusive hire of the chalet. Not that it really matters, always meet new people out here.

They always seem to be Scottish!!! Which is nice....:)

So approx total cost would be £800 + the cost of fuel.

Any questions?

If we can get some thumbs up from people, I'll put my deposit down with them.

I struggle to find anyone who likes skiing to go with me!!

So if you can reply with a definite Yes, then PM me and we can sort it from there.

My other thread below with some pictures to 'cream over'

Don't worry about the roads, I've come in all sorts of vehicles and it's always do-able.

Can you retrofit quattro? Lol

Yeah can be done, however the cost will set you back about 10 years before you can use it for any holiday lol.

I'm hoping by the time this comes around, I wont have to retrofit it :)

This would be epic, to say the least.

I take it everyone's wife or girlfriend has told them to 'jog on' then?!

Must be someone who can set the date in concrete!?

Even if you're a beginner, 1st timer, have a few lessons (1.5 hour) and you'll be away by midweek.

Get in touch!

Going to make my booking for next year at the end of May/Early June (for Jan 25th-Feb 1st) + a day either side for travelling.

£100 Deposit.

then £315 to be paid by Nov 1st.

So if any of you are genuinely interested, get in touch.

Trip Advisor ranks the place I stay at #1 of 54 places to stay.

So it's a cracker of a deal.

I would defs be game for this however I am saving to go heli-skiing in BC next year.

If I don't go I'll probs head to Tignes with you guys however as a student will be doing the budget tour and staying in either a friends chalet if its free or across the road in chalet chardons.

Might try both if I have the monies and so will road trip it over with you guys..

ok I am officially never looking at your ski threads again! That's an epic adventure and I am so jelly. If I didn't have to fly half way around the world, I do this in a heartbeat. Damn, that's an excellent price!

Here's a clip from the end of Jan at the top of tignes above the park from a 10min trek along a ridge.. :D was worth it..

So mjr901, have you got any takers from audisport yet?! :salute:

Nobody has signed up yet, everyone obviously has empty wallets or their "mrs" has them by the balls

You have until the end of May to get your name down with £100 deposit as thats when I'm doing mine.

Hey I was the one that was interested as i was heading to Tignes just after you.

Questions:

1) you said in the thread about the holiday that your missus didn't like it; why was that?
2) if I wanted to sign up with my missus is it £800 each
3) my other half has never being skiing before, do you think it's a suitable destination for first timers in terms of having easy to master nursery slopes where I can train her up?
4) I guess I'd need to budget for tyres also so £1000 for a set of tyres; how was running with just fronts

Many thanks in advance

My "Mrs" didnt like it purely for the fact A:shes lazy and B shes not particularly sporty/energetic and C she hates long car journeys.

It was her first time..but i persuaded her to go purely on the fact, that how can she say she doesnt like it, when shes never tried it... so her arm was twisted...

Yes £800 each + split cost of fuel.

I took a beginner this year, he'd never been before, he had 1.5 hour lesson and he managed to do get to grips pretty well to be honest.

There is a gentle slope near the hotel, with button lift, so thats a good start.

Lessons are held on further up at Le Lac, with buses running to and from, thats if you do not want to ski there via the bubble and chair lift.

The buses are a free service.

If im honest the tyres are not necessary, I never used to use winter tyres, and only did this time because I had them cheap.

But just fronts would be ample to say the least.

Take chains as a legal precaution, the roads are 9/10 fully clear, i just so happened to arrive at a silly time after it had just snowed.

So, does anyone actually want to commit, and go on this adventure?

Going check availability soon...and put my deposit down..

Hi chap

I had long discussions with my missus about this and as she's turning 40 this year she's basically left me with a 'wish list' that after the S5 is going to leave the piggy bank looking rather stark. I would have loved to have gone as it's been too many years since I last went skiing, but unfortunately a week in Paris for her 40th and two weeks somewhere sunny have meant skiing is going to have to go on the back burner again till 2015 :-(

:( that's rubbish.

Don't forget i've planned it for the end of January.

Money wise that's £100 deposit now, then broken down, approx £52.50 over 6 months I think that is, (for chalet/food). Additional travel costs, but that can be closer to the time.

Most get paid whilst out there too as it's the end of the month...which is always a benefit.

Very affordable..get in touch if you change your mind.

As for the rest of you, wake up. Just look at the views!

Well I'm booked in now, deposit down. It's not too late to book your place. Wish it was January already!!!

Once the deposit is down, £100. It's approx £63 a month for 5 months (final payment due 02 Nov) for the chalet inclusive of wine/food. No brainer.

Ski pass is extra, as are travel costs, see above.

Pretty sure 1.5 hour Ski lesson was around 85 Euro, but don't quote me on that. Well worth it if your a new starter. They speak English too, which helps.

All sorts of people do it, from tiny kids to OAPs.

If they can do it, so can you! :)

Booze is good too, desperados on tap was the highlight for me!

Sounds good.

Where abouts will you be staying? Tignes Les Brevieres?

Same, Looking at an abs bag as we speak too, this is not good for the car fund...

I've got 2 sets of blades now, full size set and a mini set of skis.

A bag for the blades

A bag coming for skis.

I've just waxed all the skis. Hot iron etc.

I'm ready to go!!
