I have posted a couple of update threads about this car (04 1.9TDi Avant) before but I'm going to stick this one up as my to do list for next year so as hopefully the encouragement (bullying/cajoling/peer pressure) from you guys will force me to do it.

So over the next 12 months (money/time/wife) permitting

1. Likely list

Window Tints
HID's Fitted (I've had 2 spare headlights and the actual HID's for about a year now so just need to fit)
Replace Front Bumper and wing (again had them for about a year just need to fit)
Front and rear OEM parking Sensors (guess what..... had for a year just need to fit)
Brake upgrade to 312mm (same as above)
Front armrest (I have one lined up)
Twin cut out rear valance with twin outlet exhaust (coming from QuattroJames hopefully)
Once and for all fix the pesky random brake warning light

2. Wish List

New headunit (currently standard concert II) don't think I'll be going RNSE but more likely double din aftermarket (aftermarket suggestions with fitted pics much appreciated) as I have the double din cage
Meyle HD suspension arms with lowered shocks and springs and RS4 rear ARB (currently on standard SE suspension)

3. Probably never gonna happen list

Turbo upgrade and new remap

So I'm viewing this as a working document that is likely to change over the course of the year but all early comments are welcome including anything you guys think I should be doing!

Double din wise I would get the Symphony 2 or with a wiring adapter kit the Symphony 2+ or the Concert 2+

Thanks for the response Mike but the headunit will definitely be a sat nav/phone/mp3 combined so none oem!

Send me your email addy and i'll forward you a couple of pics of my kenwood install, Garmin sat nav, bluetooth, DVD, DVB, rear screens, for me a great bit of kit.

OK so first question is the exhaust off a 2.5 tdi quattro a straight bolt on to a 1.9tdi fwd obviously apart from the lower valance.

Completely different routing of the pipe, i guess you could salvage the rear boxes, ideally you need a exhaust from a 1.8t fwd, or you can just have a rear section made and joined to your existing system, this is what i did as this mod was purely cosmetic.

Exhaust systems differ by taking different routes......also the exhaust from a 6 pot will not fit a 4 pot engine

So twin exhaust off a 1.8t avant is a straight swap? I hope so because I think I have found 1.

Get the part number and it should be 8E9.... for an Avant and 8E5..... is a salloon

I'm told it is from a 1.8t fwd avant and I have a 1.9tdi fwd avant!

Fitted new headlight switch and still have the brake warning light intermittently. Whats next brake fluid reservoir?

Have you replaced the brake switch that the pedal uses? Common failure and also causes the warning light to come and go until it completly fails which means no rear brake lights.

Ok so quick update.

Rear lower valance with twin cutouts has arrived from quattrojames.

1.8t exhaust bought on ebay and enroute.

Interior led bulbs bought from tu8ps will hopefully get installed shortly

New headlight switch again from quattrojames arrived this morning and fitted but hasn't solved the problem of the brake warning so....

Brake pedal switch enroute from quattrojames.

So onward the strive for perfection goes.

Not looked into it too much yeah but think its the thick end of £400. Plenty of other things to do first for me!

Ok so its a thanks to mike and James. Fitted the new break switch today and warning light issue solved. So we aren't even into 2014 yet and I can score something off my list already.

Don't forget the extra exhaust bracket and heat shield, i think the part numbers are in the part number sticky.

Thanks for the heads up mattyboyc. Its due to arrive tomorrow and is coming with the brackets. Will need to see about the heatshield though.

I think I know a man that has a spare anyway. Although you might be able to help with the heat shield for the exhaust?

I've already had someone ask about that, if it falls through I'll let you know.

I've had a delivery and can't work out what its is! can anyone guess what it is?
