Just got some coilovers fitting advice

Hi guys,

made a quick search regarding coilovers typical price for them being set up but no luck
most coilovers threads talked about stance and comparisons between brands!

Anyways does anyone know what the typical price is for getting coilovers setup including the 4 wheel alignment ride height etc etc?
I got a quote from a local garage for £400 seems alot?

the coilovers I got are AP managed to get them at a good price from eBay
picking them up Tuesday so can't wait!

I changed mine myself, it's a pig of a job. £400 does seem steep IMO, I would look about as most garages can do the job, with respects to the different set ups, that I don't know if you need someone with no how or if any grease monkey can do it

usually about 100 - 200 to fit as its probably about 2 - 3 hours labour + alignment at 70.. i would expect to pay about 250 max at my local specialist for fit and align.

I'm terrible with working on the car myself, I always end up paying someone to do it,
yeah I think I will ask around preferably recommended garages because I want it to be right first time and not pay again to fix someone else's mistakes I guess.

that sounds reasonable, over £100 cheaper than the original quote I have been given lol

Where abouts are you based willz? Try and look for a VW/Audi specialist or tuning company and don't be afraid to haggle a bit on price.

There is a few places in bristol, Streetwise being one of them. There is also Indigo which is run by a mate of a mate that's in Tredegar which is closer to you.

TSR Perfromance in somerset is a good place about £230 all fitted I think about an hour drive for you mate

This is a very good writeup, surprised me how much work there is to it. I have seen quotes from certain places to fit coilovers for £120 so the time to do it must be dependant on how capable and experienced the garage is in undertaking this work.
