2013 Audi S3

Yeah I was offered around £2k from carwow, but still a fair way from broker sites. Orange wheels and DTD offered very similar quotes.

DTD and Orange Wheels could not better what carwow negotiated with the dealers at the time. Orange Wheels is even now a pathetic £561

when everyone is claiming 6,7,8 and even 9% discount, are they working it on the before VAT price? (i know you cant discount VAT before someone says, its just people might be working it differently)

just might mislead some future customers :)

Hi Kenny

100+VAT = 120

100 minus 9% =91 +VAT = 109.20 a 9% saving on total inc VAT.

They discount Base price which means you pay less VAT. If they calculate in any other way they are wrong!!

i might be showing my stupidity here but it doesn't make any diff does it? 9% off the vat inclusive price is the same as the discounted price plus vat isn't it? IIRC the mistake I made was taking the discount off of the OTR price which was wrong.

Thought i'd post a couple of pics from this morning of beading on the car. It also shows how different Estoril can look in different lights.

Quite please with Carlisle's valeting work.

Your in the same position as me then, mono our was not something I even knew about till this forum and its a lovely upgrade. Im chuffed I went for B&O though that was my first option, thats a MUST for me. Be great to see the seats I have never even seen them.

Took these in the dark on the iPhone (and its flash) so not great quality or framing but gives you an idea. i'll get some better one at w/e.

Not bad, colour in those shots looks great !

It's why I went for this colour. It can look really dark almost Navy blue in some lights (most of the time in Manchester) but then sometimes when the light catches it you get a really nice electric blue pop through.

It was my first choice, but I couldn't live with blue for a long period. Went black instead, timeless.

I think Black would have been my first choice but we already have a 8P in Black so wanted something different. Personally I think the colour range at Audi is pants.. or you spend £2k+ for your own choice.

People who don't want Black persons non Black!!

Velvet Purple or Phantom Black. No issue on cost .001%

yep, electro crystal stunning flaked out panther. Aka rich mans black :)

Ridiculous ... You will be saying Brilliant Red is a poor persons Misano next!

Black Red PPs ??? It's all a matter of personal taste (or lack of it). ;-)

Glacieranthestoril is clearly the best colour...

Now put your handbags away...

Brilliant red is the poor mans Misano though isn't it? If money was no option I'd have had Misano over brilliant, but panther stole me...

Then the S3 is the really poor mans RS6.
So we are all poor, as we are buying Audi's cheapest S car, and it's not even an RS.

Yep, I'd agree with that. I'd love an rs6 but can't afford it!

None of us can, as if we could we would.

I think we have made the right "poor" mans choice though!

Dont want an RS6, and if I could actually afford it or rather justify the cost. Then I would buy something else.

But yes currently its true, the S3 is the poor mans S series car. And if Audi had actually made an S1 I might not have bought the S3

Is that mixed together like a raspberry ripple ?

Tried to fit as many of the colours in question into one word!

"Anth" is both Phantom & Panther to keep you all happy

Maybe not an RS6, but an S4 or an S5 would probably been an option for most of us...apologies if I'm wrong!!

I've always loved the S3...8l, 8p and now 8v, and would take this over an S4 or S5 any day, poor man's S car or not.

My first colour choice was Brilliant Red, not because Misano is more expensive, but because I don't like the orange tint in Misano under bright lights. Ended up with Monsoon which I was skeptical about before I ordered, but love it now. Considered going exclusive, but the choice available was a nightmare as I couldn't decide! Also, I couldn't stomach the increase in lead time as I was struggling with five months as it was!! Never mind trying to say 'I spend £2k on paint' out loud without feeling sheepish...

Audi have made an S1. A friend of mine who works at a dealer has been over to Germany to see it, he also told me the new TT was there too.

I recently drove a RS6 and RS5 and preferred the RS5.

The RS6 sounded brilliant from outside and the RS5 from the inside specially when you took it to the near 9000 rpm red line.

Both were awesome cars but for different reasons.

Thats interesting, I drove both for 30 mins a couple of months back on the open roads and bizarrely preferred the RS6 despite LOVING the look of the RS5 (which I hoped I would prefer). The RS6 is a sledgehammer of a car. The RS5 looks the nuts though.

On the same day I drove the RS6, RS5, S3, TTRS and R8 all for 30 mins each on the open road with no audi man in the car with me - its was like a dream come true. It was all part of the Audi Showcase day at Epsom, did anyone else go to it by the way it was amazingly good!

The s3 is ideal for me and my wife, smal enough to fit comfortably in the garage, roof rails and 4wd for sport and winter, sub 6 to 100kmh and circa 30mpg, which is the perfect blend for a daily driver, perfect choice for us.

2 of my friends had rs6 and one sold his new one for a profit and the other hated 9mpg and repair and maintenance costs. Both could easily afford them , one a dentist the other a consultant gyno.

so, not about affordability, more about daily practicality. Why take a machine gun to a knife fight ?

Recently sold the rs3 (sensible head on as house bought for next year) but seeing myself looking at these now for maybe order in the summer for winter del. Thinking Audi exclusive colour perhaps, or fancy missano sportback, pano roof, black styling pack, tints and black roof rails. Can't see any pics online of this combo? Anyone help or am I mad...
