Ok so as you may well know that millteks are a tad dear for the 2.0tdi, so what I've done is booked in next week to have one made to my preference which so far is quad pipe 80mm tips but I'm undecided on the tone of the exhaust so I'm wondering what you guys think, would love to hear from someone who has had one and what they think, I am going to Tony Banks who says I can have it any sound I like from quiet to noisy, I don't want it to sound like a tractor on tick over but I do want to hear it when I put my toe down so I think I want the mild sport as he calls it that's the one before full sport, oh and its a cat back. The pics are of the style tips I want. ImageImage

Let us know how you get on mate. What kind of price are you talking out of interest, just for comparison against the miltek?

Its £500 +vat for a 10 year guarantee but that includes fitting and a loan car whilst it's being done I like the idea of this as you can have any style tips plus whatever tone you want unlike the milltek which is 2 style tips and one sound. Also I think milltek may be a little over rated don't get me wrong they are good but not £900 good lol yeah ill post pics maybe a vid once its on next Wednesday.

Oh yeah he's also going to trim my existing diffuser for free and says it will look fine as I told him I'm real picky so it has to look rite but he's assured me it will so that saves another £170 plus anothe £30 for a hanger from audi.

but with a Miltek it will have a resale value when it comes to changing car time. so in effect it will cost you similar amounts over the period of ownership

So will the one I'm having made prob not as much as a milltek but I'm pretty sure there will be plenty people out there will to buy it. Plus mines costing £600 all in but I will get £100 back on vat and millteks fitted with diffuser and hanger are around £1100 and will prob only sell for £400 so if I get £200 for mine I'm still way better off than buying a milltek.

Well it's going in tomorrow 8.30 hope I like it when it's done and I get what I want :):):)

I've had it done but haven't had chance to get any good pics yet, but I've done a 200+ mile run down to Coventry and back so it's just about run in and sounds good it's not too loud however it is going back for the centre box cutting out for free and a S4 diffuser fitting and the tail pipes lifting up to achieve exactly what I want I've got one pic when it was just fitted before it got raised and leveled.

Looks great. Is it stainless throughout?

Dont forget to tell your insurers ;)

sorry yes its stainless from the cat back, as if I have turbo back it means taking out the cat & dpf but it then will bring up an error so have to have it mapped to get rid of the warning light :(

Brother in law got zero payout cos he had non standard wheels and lip spoiler.

I declared wheels, exhaust and other mods on my insurance and the premium went up by...... nothing! So well worth declaring it and checking each year they have a note of the mods.

BTW http://www.wunoff.co.uk/index-2.html are local to you and they are pretty good at their job. Ask for Jamie the freefall skydiver ;)

Yeah good point I will call tomorrow and ask the question but if they want a load of money they won't be getting told, however I did my insurance online and it never asked for any modifications but its prob in the small print somewhere. I used Tony banks they are really helpful and willing to change it to my liking for free once it's bedded in and the sound has changed if I want it any louder. :)

Ordered new genuine diffuser today and booked back in at the place where I got the exhaust made to fit and adjust to fit new diffuser :) oh n I've gotta say it sounds awsome now it's settled I'm very pleased with it, I've even had one person comment who said it sounds like a v8 when setting off haha

Yes I've got one check out my YouTube type in ktm250si and it's the top one in the dark, the phone doesn't do it any justice but still sounds well, will sound better again when it goes back for centre box cutting out :)

I've put a couple on there just look for the A4 B8 2.0tdi custom exhaust vids on my profile as I've been busy adding a few :)

Hey it sounds pretty good, would definetely be interested to hear how it sounds with the centerbox off.. BTW how does it sound in the car and is it a catback or turbo back?

I'm also planning on going down the route of a custom made exhaust cause any exhaust is too expensive to get shipped to India with the duties.

Cheers, it doesn't sound much different when driving steady but if you give it a bit can definitely hear a differance but I want to hear it in the car that's why I'm having the centre box cut out :) and it's only a cat back. Yes I would say get a custom pipe over a manufactured one any day.

Strange type in A4 B8 2.0tdi custom exhaust and see if they come up look for my name ktm250si think they should be at the top, I can't find a way of uploading a vid on here or even putting a link to the vids :/

Received my new S4 diffuser today it is genuine audi but came in 2 parts the chrome strip across the back needs fitting to it with some screws but didn't come with any which is poor as now I have to find out what screws I need and where to get them, don't suppose anybody knows what & where I can get some from???

Modifications and resale value? Pahaha you mad bro? Need a fair few mods and to find an enthusiast else if anything modifications will deduct value come resale. Will never get back what you pay either way and half the buyers won't know the difference between exhausts.
