It has been a kind of weird day to be honest. :) x

Myself and A3SportbackMark are planning on meeting at a golf club close to the M25/M4 intersection - Richings Park Golf Club (www.richingspark.co.uk) at around 11.45 - 12.00 on th 1st after we have collected our cars.

If anyone else wants to join us you are more than welcome. Not sure we will hang around for long as i am sure we will want to get back to friends and family but will be a good quick opportunity for photo or two.

Still on for a larger meet later in September, nominally, the wek after on the 8th, but waiting for my sons football fixture list to turn up to confirm my availability.

Ahhh, the location has been revealed where the 63 grey daytona meets the 63 blue scuba. As Dave has said, any other A3/S3??/R8 8v, any reg are welcome!

great track - that's a starting to get excited track if ever I heard one, pretty much sums me up this morning as it is now officially less than 7 days until I leave home for the dealers.

Starting to run out of preparation things to do, found myself wandering round Halfords yesterday afternoon looking at even more car cleaning products and walked out with some more cleaning polishing cloths and interior cleaning wipes!!!!

Lol, you will need so much storage space for all your cleaning products, that the poor car will have to sit outside in the drive. :) x

Funny you should say that, been in our current house 15 years and not once has the car ever been in the garage

Thats a thumping tune, might need something a bit more sedate (not too much mind) for next couple of days otherwise my head might explode before Sunday

Now officially excited after courtesy call from the dealer confirming we are all set for 10.00 tomorrow.

just read my spec again and had almost forgotten upgraded speakers, not B and O, but enough of prompt for me to finalise the play list.

Thanks, just back from seeing my wife complete her 26 mile charity walk in London now it's my time to try and chill out and see out the last 12-14 hours of waiting.

only one minor hiccup, the iPhone has thrown a wobbly and lost its nav and camera functions so have to dig out the proper camera and a sat nav ( never ordered one as an option) unless I can sort it out in the next couple of hours.

Thanks again for all the tunes, pics will be later this evening Unfortunatly as I could not get the camera icon back on the iPhone

Enjoy Dave :D

Oh and try holding "power" button and "home" button down at the same time, keep them down until the apple logo appears ;)

Car is one year old today. :)

No regrets at all, a few minor niggles and no complaints and is without a doubt the best all round car I have ever driven and still smile every time I see it parked in the car park especially from the rear quarter angle view..

Have driven a fraction over 11,000 miles which is a couple of thousand more than I thought as I have used it for business use over to France (love the extra few km of speed limit!!!) more than I was planning to, think that says a lot for how much I still enjoy driving it every day.

Diesel is a joy to drive and probably fully bedded itself down after the first 4-5000 miles. I don't care what the petrol heads say you cant beat the kick down and ingear acceleration of the diesel in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. also really enjoy the relentless even power (and consequently constant speed) it puts down on motorway inclines and is great especially when some oik in a Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Volvo or Renault wants to try and cruise past you at 78mph and then you just sail past as they struggle up an incline 2 miles further on.

Niggles

  • Dipstick has lost the measuring bobble thing on the end but as not had any other reason to take it to the garage not bothered getting it replaced yet.
  • Washer fluid tank could do with being bigger, uses far to much washer fluid cleaning the xenons.
  • Had to top up with about 250ml coolant last week which was a bit worrying but level has stayed constant over last 500 miles.
  • Average MPG is around 50mpg, was expecting maybe Ca 53mpg but I do drive it like I stole it except with the wife on board...lol
  • Still get an occasional knocking of the right hand wiper blade on the right hand window pillar, but again so minor i can be bothered taking in for adjustment
  • Wear on drivers cloth mat is more than I would expect after a years driving

Frustrations

  • 3 of my alloys now need refurbing the 18" wheels are so unforgiving
  • Have got a couple of small stone chips and a minor scratch that will polish out, but Daytona Grey is pretty good at hiding minor blemishes
  • Even with more A3's on the road still being annoyed by the constant stream of boy (and Girls in there Minis and Fiat 500's) racers who want to race.
  • Should have ordered tyre pressure monitoring especially as it is now standard, that said Tyres never seem to loose more than about 1-2 psi every 2000miles

So in summary still got that day 1 smile :)

Just realised that mine would be 1 year old today as well! I should post up a similar review
