I need pay day to pay off my holiday and a monster gas bill I've just received after we had the meter read for the first time in over a year and they realised that we're actually using more gas then they estimated :(

I feel your pain! ****** wedding mags all over the house!

We never did............she, even, never did the wedding mag.
Just makes it worse I think and so much more expensive.

My sister is getting married next year and my Bestman's sister is getting married a week after us, they have all gone for white dress church weddings, cars, hotels and such. Its all costing so much more it scares me.

Ours is coming in at around 7k, If it was any more I think I would go mental. Its a stupid price to pay for just one day of drinking and eating.

Web browser, 8l section and general done goodbye. Simple. None of this tappatosspot crap.

Not looking forward to the day wedding plans and money start getting discussed properly.

The discussion is great, that's not the issue.
The issue is when you're having to start getting the wallet out to pay for things.
The only thing I enjoyed buying so far is the suits. I've never had a bespoke suit before and this great fun.

I'm glad i've been there and done that already. Couldn't be ***** with the whole wedding thing again. If Laura ever leaves me, i'm staying single...or at least i'll shack up with somebody with zero wedding plans.

You bought your suits outright or hiring them Scott? I`ll be hiring them for sure.

We knw roughly what we want. Church can do one. She wants a nice big country house but they cost loads. Hotels put on the best packages but she wants somewhere a bit nicer for pictures.

We're looking to get married abroad to keep the costs down.

I went to 2 weddings last year. 1 was in Croatia with the best view of any reception I've ever seen, overlooking the ocean and Croatian landscape and cruise ships. This cost about £6k and included a week in Croatia for the bride and groom too. The 2nd wedding was in Cambridge in one of the colleges private grounds and cost £26k

I know what I'd prefer....

Same here. Its a one time deal for me.

Bought them outright mate. Went to Moss and did their bespoke suit service.
So many options to chose from. Buttons, arm lining, trouser lining, jacket lining, pocket style, 1 split or two split at the back, traditional cut, stitching, piping, font style, colour and some others that I can't remember.
I loved it. Makes me want to go get some more.

We went for a hotel overlooking the mouth of the river severn with a gazebo.

Should be ok, if not I'll just get drunk and eat lots of food.

That's mental.
Lad in work got married abroad and said it was so much cheaper and it went really well.

We did talk about doing that, just a small group of us but the way our families are I don't think they would have forgiven us.
So our special day has turned into a day to keep the family happy. That annoys me.

"Its your special day, you do what makes you happy."
"we want to get married abroad."
"Are you sure? You know your nan and granddad's wont be able to come, that will upset them and you dad wont be happy"
"Ok, so its our special day as long as we keep the family happy"
"Yeah."
"******!!"

Yep it's ******** isn't it. We won't know who we're going to annoy till we announce it. My last 2 remaining grandparents wouldn't be able to make it even if it was in the UK as they would require too much care and they live miles away from anywhere we'd want to get married.

It's crazy that going abroad is cheaper but it's cos this country just whacks the price up for anything wedding related. The couple from the Croatian wedding booked a place for a UK reception for those that couldn't come to Croatia but they told the hotel that it was a family party and not a wedding reception cos they just put the price up ;)

I suggested that to sarah but she said they might notice when we turn up in wedding outfits and start doing speeches.

The separate wedding party was an idea but I don't think it would have helped so we stuck with out UK only one.
We booked ours on a friday and the hotel gave us a discount. :)

Just tell them it's a wedding themed family party lol

My sister and brother in law got married in Thailand, the cost of the wedding was 1k then it was just the cost of 3 weeks holiday in Thailand. If you have it abroad you can invite everyone they just have to get them selves out there.

So far I've got mine coming in at about 6k I think, although we've saved money on certain things like wedding cars which will be very different.

Don't bother karl, it's over rated. Been married nearly 10 years now. And had sex...nearly 10 times. Wahoo

That's a very good point. If anybody wants to hire my a4 for weddings I am very cheap. £50 plus fuel...it's a lovely beast. I'll even remove the exhaust so it sounds like a v8 supercar. brum brum

lol not really what I meant, we've got a WW2 Jeep, Dodge Ambulance, and Half Track as are wedding vehicles which are owned by the other halfs brothers and Uncle, which we wont have to pay to use.
