2013 Audi S3

Hi I am new to this thread but have been watching for a few month , I feel some of the recent comments are a bit it strange . The S3 is a fantastic car , if you need to bling it up its not the car for you. For the record I will be ordering my car for 2014 reg .

Sports back.
estoril blue.
standard wheels.
and most of the options.

The cost is around 42k ,but hoping to get good discount in January2014, apprieciate all previous comments which as helped me to make my spec.

42k? British Pounds?

I've speced my s3 out a bit higher than that and it comes in at £37,000 .... I always remember a TT coupe tdi in an Audi showroom, £42k it was! Who on earth bought that I don't know. The salesman there told me he doubted they'd ever sell it at the price. It had buckets, special paint (viper green) and pretty much every option going. I'd hate to see the depreciation on that one - adding a lot of options is all well and good, but counts for flip all in most cases when it comes to trade it in from my experience of audi dealers!

Yuck!!

If it looked like that horrible i wouldnt have ordered one, don't chavify our beautiful s3 please, stick to evos and imprezas.

That looks bang on the money IMO. Chavify? Horrible? Utter crap. Just look again at the picture: that's a base s3 with a black styling pack, sepang blue paint and tity colured rims. That's it LOL! Basically the same as my TTRS and that looks the utter nuts IMO. Each to their own, but I want a performance car to look like a performance car.

That looks too light to be Sepang blue to me? Sort of a Sprint/Sepang combo

I interpreted "most of the options" to mean just that. I've added something like 6K of options to an S Line and that's without full leather, super sport seats, pano roof, LED headlights, mag ride, mono.pur, roof rails or privacy glass. So I can see "most of the options" adding up to 10K.

Edit: here's an audi code for an S3 that's over 45K - and it has the standard wheels! ACB4BYDH

The fact of the matter is that since you barged in this topic you've criticized audi's choice for the s3, colour, looks, etc., maybe you should move on with your life and go pollute somewhere else, the door is wide open for you.

Here we all love the way it looks and the ones that don't DO NOT GO ON ABOUT IT like you keep doing. I can't stand people who can only ***** about the looks of a car, just go for a ****** Mercedes A class AMG, it seem to suit your sort much more, i.e. classless chavy in your face piece of crap.

i hope to never see your sort buying s3's, it would give us who actually own one of these beauts a very bad name.

Referring back to a post on a previous page, metallic or pearlescent orange (Solar Orange in Audi's case) doesn't look great on many cars at all, other than the Mk2 Focus ST which spurred the fashion in the first place.

Also the S3 in the picture which is that that Mk 1 Focus RS purpley-blue colour makes it look like the owner is attempting to mimic a Mk 1 Focus RS... why would you do that? The cars are TOTALLY chalk and cheese regardless of the obvious age difference. I can only assume its a nostalgic thing...

My S3 (when it comes) will be more of less completely black and I'll probably consider removing the badges after a while too. This is for two reasons
a) I have bought this car for my own enjoyment and not to brag or show off.
b) The less a nice car stands out the better unless you want to attract unwanted attention.
c) Black goes with everything so down the line if I'm looking at summer wheels I can go for more or less any colour or finish without fear of it looking odd.
d) Residuals values and speed of sale are statistically proven to be higher with "boring" colours.

I can remember a tag-line from a Prada advert in a magazine once which sums Audi's approach to there Q-car styled S and RS range of cars:

"It's what you conceal, not what you can see."

The anthracite wheels look amazing against the white body mate, great choice. Have you driven it about yet?

Silly question. But is this Amalfi white or Glacier white? Either war the car looks stunning, congrats

Really liking that the 8v is really growing on me now.

I part exchanged my racing blue mica with buckets and only 900miles on the clock for an estoril blue sportback, it sure is a grower. Have i done the right thing Simon? too late now though!

Hi

Thanks for all the positive comments, it's Glacier white, can't wait till 1st sept.

Not too sure on the Estoril blue pics to be honest, just doesn't look that special to me, eventhough I considered it when deliberating between a new s3 or rs3. The white does look really nice wih the pano roof. Thumbs up from me

those pictures of the estoril blue one are low quality, it therefore doesn't do the colour justice. Then again I'd rather see less estorils on the roads, will make mine feel even more special. Go white !!!! :D

I had real problems deciding on the colour, I saw the Estoril blue in the metal but it just looked like a dull, drab navy blue, maybe just because it was not a sunny day. Misano red was also a possibility until I saw it in daylight and it looked like an orange/tomato colour. White would not have been my first choice but happy with it when I went to the dealer to view the car. Not long to wait now.

Aren't there anymore pictures now that the car is being shipped to customers? Still have to wait a little more? It's a shame i'd like to see a ton more pictures of s3's ;(.

I have added some more pictures of the S3 in Estoril blue. I've driven it yesterday about 340 km. Absolutely fantastic. I liked the Magnetic ride very much. It's worth the money. Launch control, with absolutely no spinning wheels. Incredible. Nice sound. I will post some short video's later.

Thanks for the new pictures. What are your thoughts on Estoril Blue having eperienced it first hand? Whilst it looks nice enough, from those photos to me on an average cloudy day it doesn't have the wow factor some feel it does. Just a nice blue, not more.

Looks like a pretty well specced car! What were your personal opinions on the B&O?

Thank you so much bjorngra! Very nice pictures on your Flickr ! :) :o.k:

Superb photos Bjorngra, very clear and detailed - thanks.

You liked the magnetic ride, can you go into more details about your thoughts and driving experience with that? and also your views on the super sport seats?

crystal photos Bjorngra, also as you previously advised a fellow member about fitment of 19" alloys to their new A3 8V, can you advise me if 8J is the correct width for 19" alloys to fit the S3 Sportback with no rubbing issues? 225 tyres?

It's a nice color, but you can't see the metallic parts in the paint. Just like Misano.

Hi Paul, the B&O sounds very clear even on a high volume. The bass sounds good. I can't compare it with the Audi Soundsystem because I didn't heard that. No bad things to say about B&O.

Here in Holland we have many streets with pavers and barriers and it's a lot more comfort with Magnetic Ride. Even on the Highway which are very good in Holland you can sense the difference of the Magnetic ride on en off. I try to change my order with Magnetic. But I don't know if it's possible. My car will be build in 5 weeks. When the difference was not that much I didn't order it, but it's worth it.

The super sportseats are in my opinion better then the normal S3 seats. In my TT I have the same seats as the R8 and the S3 s seats sitting better. More support in the upper back. And they look much better!

so what's the difference between a crystal effect colour and a pearlescent colour?
