CCM for B7 Key Fob

I've got the following CCM on my 2002 A4 B6.
8E0959433AJ


Now I've bought 2 B7 keys which is specially for an A4 (8E0837220Q)

I'm having issues pairing it and on doing further research found that I need a new CCM as mines a 2002.

So which variant of the CCM do I need as there are literally dozens all ending with different codes and am getting dizzy just by looking at them!

I have a B7 key and my module ends BC. Not sure if it's the only one that works, but can definitely confirm that it works for me!

Did a bit more digging:

My existing CCM (8E0959433AJ) has the following PR Codes:
5D1 = Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz-434.42 Mhz
7AL = Anti-theft alarm system passenger compartment control backup horn and towing protection


The following CCM (8E0959433BD) which supersedes the BC has the following PR Codes:
5D1 = Carrier frequency 433.92 MHz-434.42 Mhz
7AL = Anti-theft alarm system passenger compartment control backup horn and towing protection


The B7 Remotes I have is 433Mhz so why isn't it getting picked up by my existing module?
The standard B6 remote I have is easily picked up via VCDS when I click any button.

So am I missing something?

I did. Well thats why I think I did.

My original key is a 433Mhz and so is the new shape key.

They guy I bought the key from used the key on his B6 however he had an accident hence he sold the key. His B6 was a 2004 so was lucky enough to have the key work.

Lookup a guy on the bay named key_service he looks after all my key needs, he got me the correct chip to work with my car in a banana style fob imported from germany for £47 all i had to do was put my transponder in it and get a blade cut,

He looked after me with my cupra changing from the old 2 button fixed key to a flip fob, hes really helpful and very fair prices

Who done the immobiliser program for the keys, I can do it however have no SKC code.

As for the getting the remote to work I'm now on the look out for a late B6 CCM so that I can have all my keys lock and unlock my doors. I don't think the B7 CCM will work with my old key.

Thats not that great a deal, standard rates for supplying a non genuine key i suppose though. Was this just in an effort to make new key fobs work on other cars? i know craigynett (sp) has experimented with this kind of thing and always had keys when ive needed them.

I know its a bit too late of me asking you, but can you tell me what part number your B7 fob is?

So I can compare with my fobs.

Also if you have access to VCDS what part number is your CCM and what year is your car.

Car year is 2002
as for ccm i have vcds but not completely clued up with it if you point me to where ccm part number is ill check for you

If you go into 47 Central Convenience via VCDS. And then on the page youll have it written on the top the part number.

Did you by any chance have CCM changed too.

Im suprised yours has that convenience module. Anyways good news I went and bought the BD variant CCM from local scrap yard and got the remotes working. However my old key doesnt get recognised.

Not too bothered about that but would you be able to tell me what your old remote part number was and then ill just go get the bottom end of the remote.

So to sum it all up if anyone reading this has the following CCM: 8E0 959 433 AJ. You defo need to upgrade the CCM.

If I buy a B7 key off the bay can I swap my B6 blade and interior gubbins in to it?

The b6 fob internals do not fit into a b7 fob, best bet is locating key_service and sending him a message im sure hell be able to help you out,

Thanks for that. The eBay sellers say that the internals are a straight swap, which is why I asked as if it's on eBay it is almost certainly not true

The remote has two parts, the glass chip which is for the immobiliser and then there is the remote transponder to lock and unlock. What the guy probably means is the glass chip is swappable.

Then you'll need to adapt the remote so that it works with the car.

Remember that it all depends on which CCM your car currently has.

the glass chip is the transponder. A transponder has nothing to do with the remote part of the key

i've used key_service(Robert) in the past, always helpful & posts quickly. I buy them from elsewhere now, probably the same place he does so I get them cheaper.

He's sold me B7 style remotes before that could be programmed to B6. Not had 1 for well over a year though. The last few i bought wouldn't program to the car even though they were sending an RF signal. I returned them but he was having trouble getting some more. So in the end i used a normal B6 remote

The B7 style he sold me didn't have a part number on the case so wasn't sure what the part number was. I actually have a few 8e0 837 220q so may see if I can program them to a B6

Sorry getting mixed with the transponder and remote. Glass is the transponder (immobiliser part) and then theres the remote which is what the name suggests - unlocks and locks.

glass/transponder is swappable. Not the remote though.
