Just taken delivery of a brand spanking Avant Quattro BE and I am a bit disappointed to see that there is still an ashtray and lighter in the car. Is there a way to replace this with some kind of cubby hole? I have done some googling but not found anything...

If it was such a big issue, surely you would have asked when ordering it. Try using the tray as a coin tray, and the socket as a power supply
Can't say its ever bothered me either. I keep a few business cards in mine and use the 12v socket for my tomtom/phone charger.
Like others have said - at least it's covered
What annoys me more is there is no cubby under the headlight switch like I've had in nearly every other car I've owned!
