Hi, my contract is up next week and I'm unsure what phone to get. I thought the S3 looked a bit plasticky, especially at the side of my iPhone4. I considered an Xperia Z but a colleague is having issues with his. Has anyone got an S4 yet, what is it like? I'm not convinced having such a big phone

I am due a new one in August, my S2 has been back twice for repair and is running like a bag of ****e since it upgraded to Jellybean. I have been looking at the HTC One which looks a quality bit of kit and I may go for one in August

apart fromt the shear size that deterred me from the experia z, that has just put me off it altogether!
why are phones so big now?
i need a phone to fit in my shirt pocket while at work!

Look at the other phones in the Xperia range. The E, Miro, U, S, V. They are pretty much on-par with the Z but smaller. SG4 would be my choice but only from a technology point of view. Agreed they are far too big.

I went to upgrade my phone today, decided that I wanted a black iPhone5. Managed to leave with white S4! The size isn't a problem like I thought it would be. Irritating that the calendar from my sky email won't seem to sync with S planner - otherwise quite happy with it.

I had a play with the S4 on Saturday. Nice phone, very quick and a fantastic screen and camera on it.

I had the iphone 5, swapped for the xperia z and not looked back. Im running a custom kernal and overclocked the cpu to run on demand, battery lasts all day and night with heavy use. can also be underclocked, but i find on demand and max speed seems to work well. So much more customisable than the iphone.
And its dirt/grease/waterproof! bonus.
Im due an upgrade also, but ill be selling the new phone on ebay after delivery no doubt, a z or an s4.

I have the SGS4 since the release date and love it. It is technologically way ahead than iphone. Size of it took some time to get used to. It is very fast, excellent camera etc. Only competitor for it is HTC one. Definitely not iphone 5.
I just upgraded to the S4 from the iPhone 4, first impressions are its huge but very light. Screen resolution, video and photo quality is miles ahead of the iphone4. It'll take some getting used to but it looks like a good choice so far.
My mrs also just upgraded to the HTC Windows phone (can't remember the exact model but its blue) so far she loves it. the same again with quality etc over the iPhone4 and she was 'getting bored' with the same old iPhone style etc so wanted something different.

Yeah i think its the 8x, it looks really cool and the windows interface seems to be well designed. I like the background changes when listening to music on it as well
yeah I think Window Phone 8 is a good base, lots of people dis it just because its Microsoft and they are partisan iPhone or Android followers
