S2000 Air Filter

Hi guys I have decided on fitting an OEM Honda s2000 cone filter to my AGU engine.

Does this filter require a reducer or will it jubilee clip straight onto the MAF? Standads air box is easy to remove I assume?

This is covered approximately every 20 minutes. At which point, Jardo piles in claiming it's the best thing since sliced bread. There's no real evidence apart from logs which vary at the best of times and the old "it feels good" placebo. It is cheap though, and paper is meant to give better filtration.

really its jetex or the s2000 or put it another way £50 or £15 (not sure actual price) but have a look in that thread, i had to buy a reducer for mine i have an aum

Do you know who put me onto the S2000 air filter originally? Bill. If it is good enough for Bill it is good enough for me. Even if it doesn't add any performance over a Jetex it does the same job potentially better for less than a third of the cost, so of cause it is the best thing since sliced bread.

And as I say all the time, if my S2000 air filter wasn't up to the job I wouldn't have the most powerful K03s on the forum. As you know with a K03 it is ALL about flow.

I have seen a couple of S2000 turbo setups, ranging from 300 to 500bhp all using this standard filter and airbox.

You just don't like it because it isn't a brand name to out on your list of perfect mods :p

Can you point me in the right direction on where to purchase a reducer please buddy? Is it just a standard 70-80mm silicone reducer I need? Sam
 
That's great thanks buddy :) Is airbox simple to remove? Is it the AGU or AUM that has the little sensor on the air box that you have to fix somewhere else?
 
Agu has an ignition amplifier in the airbox, just zip tie it somewhere out the way but as far away from the engine/turbo as you can.
 
i have an aum and didnt see a sensor, its so easy to remove just 4 bolts/screws 2 either side
 
That's because AUM's don't have the ignition amplifier in the airbox, it is built into the coil packs. Four wires for the coil packs, not three like an AGU.

Yup, in one way or another. But the entrance to the filter is actually bigger than 80mm, more like 82/84mm. An 80mm will stretch, but it's a push.
 
Was your filter oiled jardo? Mine was caked in oil!
 
No oil in mine; I got my filter from GSF.

You shouldn't need to oil a paper filter? Hmmm.
 
I got mine from eurocarparts, was caked in oil when I took it out the box?
 
if you get the reducer i linked you too it fits so snug does take a bit of pushing tho

  2. Just a quick one on this mate, the amplifier on the top half of the air box is held on with 2x cross heads. I removed these and then proceeded with removing the amplifier, only to find a white paste (heat paste?) That was on the face of the amplifier removed and then on what looks like cooling fins which remain in the top half of the filter box!, what needs to be done here? As without the two connected it cause the car tho cut out. Cheers buddy and great build.
 
The heat-sink like bit should have come away from the airbox and remained attached to the amplifier. I can't remember exactly how the heat sink's held to the air-box as mine never came with an air-box attached, but they should be connected together as the heat-sink will be needed. It's a good idea to have it somewhere with a bit of air-flow to it if you can.
 
The S2K filter doesnt hold back anything, when on the dyno if you run with and then without it makes no difference to air flow, they are that good
