I have a set of 3 pinch points similar to that on my route to work everyday and you wouldn't believe the amount of idiots who try to nip through and cause me to slam my breaks on, drives me crazy!

I have always hated Merc drivers, think they own the ****** road! It used to be BMW's but moved onto Merc's.

Those traffic island things in the middle of the road are effing stupid. Yes they might slow people down but they probably cause more accidents than what it would be like before they were put there.

In my opinion, although you have the right of way, you still need to be sensible and slow down as it's so hard to judge what kind of speed the person coming in the opposite direction is doing and a lot of the time it's just after a bend or they can't see behind a big van/lorry/bus.

But please imagine he had no vision of your car thats why judged if the guy in front is going I can make it too! Brainless but explains why he pulled out.

You should have nailed it and smashed into him head on.

I have to disagree, he can clearly see an oncoming car, if at all he was paying attention

Sorry mate I dont mind to defend him or anything like that just trying to explain why he did it. It happened to me few times when I could not see if there are any upcoming cars or not coz a big van in front of me. You can have then 2 options trust yourself and stop, see for any cars and go if safe or try your luck thinking the guy in front of you left enough space to squeeze through which is really stupid and dangerous. Besides if I look in the image the driver seems to be covered up only passenger gets free vision:]

I'd rather be on the road with any of the mentioned than ****** students and old people ...

Don't get me started with old people!

Was travelling along the A3 yesterday south bound towards Portsmouth, doing about 75mph in the fast lane, pulled over into the slow lane, saw her car ahead before I pulled into the slow lane, little did I realise she was only going 25mph! Shock of my life!

I think going that slowly on a motorway is more dangerous than going 100mph imho.

'Some' old people either need their licenses taken away from them OR have to take a refresher cause, some of them are just plane and simply DANGEROUS!

^^^

A) 75 mph is breaking the law - you were in the wrong.
B) there are no "fast lanes" within the UK.
c) there are no minimum speeds within the UK...
At present in the UK, there is no legislation for minimum speeds on UK motorways. Although there has been calls for years to set a minimum speed limit, the practicalities of doing so means that at present there is still no specific minimum speed.

I would be very careful about ranting at other people's driving....

As much as I feel sorry for a lot of old people that do rely on there car for independence, I totally agree with this. As you say, it's not ALL old people like.

there are no minimum speeds, but you can get pulled and fined by the popo for doing 25 in a 60/70 on dual carriageway (dependant on road), same for the motorway.

It's just unreasonable going way below the speed limit...
Can't handle it? Don't go onto the motorway causing stress and potential threat to other road users.

A) I know I was breaking the law, that is NOT the point! It would have made no difference if I was doing 5mph less.
B) Yes, there are no 'Fast Lanes' but if you need to overtake, you use the outside lane, known to everyone as the 'Fast Lane' as you are generally travelling 'faster' than people in the inside lane or 'Slow Lane'.
C) Again, yes, there are no min speed laws in the UK but you WILL get pulled over for doing 25mph on a motorway....... because it is DANGEROUS, I did not say she was breaking the law in anyway.

Monopole, under the assumption that this is your own video, I have to ask why go to the effort of putting it on youtube? There's plenty of bad drivers on the road and you're gonna come across this kinda crap everyday. You can either sit there and rant about it which is just gonna wind you up more or just let it go the moment it happens and just carry on with your day. Even if you did eventually find the person in the car, whats gonna come from it? Not a lot in my opinion.

I'm not saying what happened in the video is something not to fuss about, but its just one of those things that if you continue to let it get to you its only gonna annoy you more at the end of the day. I spend a lot of time driving, but in more recent years i've given up doing any long journeys in the daytime because of the amount of stupid people i come across, i normally go out at night now when the roads are a bit more free. Taxi drivers are my number one hate, toyota prius' and scooter riders. I don't mind motorbikes, but scooters, especially pizza delivery scooters are annoying as f**k. Cyclists are slowly moving up the ranks for me too.

What kind of dash cam are you using? The only thing you've missed in your 'after action review' with number plates etc is trying to freeze frame and prove its a chick driving the Merc!

This things happenes every day and sooner or later
you'll be like that one in the merc, believe me!
Nothing stresfull in this video, you panic too much.

Next time just start a thread, that you are having a new black vue lol:laugh:

It reminded me of the hazard perception on my driving test lol!

Although imo I don't really think it was that bad you had to edit the video and have a proper rant about it.....

As other people have said, annoying, but could have been a mistake (not defending the driver completely as there are some numptys out there). When people get blind red road rage at me if I innocently pull in late to a junction etc (through bad directions for example) I just wave and smile, it makes me laugh how some people can get so worked up over things like that.

Don't let the little things get to you, chill out and love life! :D

Isn't this standard issue driving for these kind of islands?!

There's a place near where I work I that has these islands all the way shown the road. Also located on this road is a huge industrial estate as well as an Italian supercar tuning garage, on a normal day there's at least 20 Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Maserati parked on the road at any one time as well as HGV's doing this kind of thing to each other! It's painful to watch at times & God knows how nothing has been hit yet but the garage owner just takes it as being par for the course!

Some drivers are just stupid,if they keep on driving like that their luck may run out HGV or even worse an unmarked police car and points for dangerous/careless driving

I would say 75mph as the speedo reads wrong anyway. 75mph would probably be closer to 70-73mph. May still be over the limit but the police speed traps and speed camera's read over the speed limit by roughly 10% (probably isn't 10% at 70 but you get the gist) so if his speedo said 75mph it's very unlikely you would get done.

I come across this a lot myself, like others have said just chillax and get on with it. I wouldn't generalise as you see bad drivers in all makes of cars.

What really makes me laugh is the number of bellends who come right up behind expecting me to boot it and have a little duel with them. I actually do the opposite and slow down lol and it really antagonises them. After a while they just back right off.

Is it not 10% + 2?

I live round the corner from 3 sets of that these that I use multiple times a day. There is some serious jack *** drivers in york too that drive like complete bell ends. I honestly feel like buying a disco and seriously f'ing up the people just like that merc driver!

Im going to be completely honest with you. I don't know. I watch a lot of the police programmes, well used to, and I remember one in South Yorkshire where they were using a speed gun and he said in South Yorkshire we look for people doing 10% over the speed limit because their speedo reads high and our gun reads (going to say) bang on (otherwise they'd have faulse data I suppose and wouldn't be able to prosecute anyone, plus they have to recalobrate them). I wasn't too sure about the 10% at 70mph as 7mph seems a lot to let off I suppose. But as I said I don't know. I'm not a police officer and I only saw it on tv... Ha

As has been said, you have to ask why, on a straight road, is an island purposefully placed to create a give way junction. Waste of time in a more ways than one, and an unnecessary.

lool felt like i was doing my hazard perception test
out of criosity why were you recording anyway?

I agree, I find it much more satisfying to either smile, wave or blank them completely. If they are so damn stupid to cause road rage in the first place because they think they are King Ding on the road and hurl loads of abuse at you. They are going to be wondering why you didn't respond with abuse. Perhaps after thinking for a little while, why you didn't respond with the bird like them, they will realise it is because they are warped! lol If you respond with abuse or let it wind you up, they have won!

I agree 100% with this but........for some reason I find it extremely hard to do. I think the issue is I 100% guarantee these bellends wouldn't pull a similar stunt with me in, say, the Post Office queue. You are right though, no sense in letting it wind you up, cos they do it all day anyway.
