Hi,

Lots of discussions regarding bose setups on this forum but not much related to the non-bose (presumably ****ty Blaupunkt?). I have a front speaker thats nearly blown and am looking at replacing the front 6.5". Is this a direct replacement, can I just plug and play or is there more work involved and will they run off the amp/sub currently in the car?

Thanks.

I have the same problem and want to upgraded so the would help me also.
Are the focals pretty good or any others recommend?

The fronts run off the HU, you will need fitting adapters for aftermarket speakers (search ebay for Audi MDF)
Guide to fitting is here:

You are better off getting 6.5" components without an active crossover otherwise they are a ballache to fit as the tweeters aren't in the doors. The JL Audio TR650csi's are a good option for sensible money

So just two 6.5" speakers, no tweeters? Will this work with the standard Concert HU? I don't really want to have to start replacing other items if I can help it.

Components have separate tweeters

Yes I know, and I know they are in the pillar by the airbag but do you think I'd be alright just replacing the doorcard speakers? Will it sound ok?
