also happy to report the 'carpet cleaner' works wondors on the seat base too

will throw some pics of the engine bay up soon now i've done a few more bits :)

Found this link - VW Group Option Codes Decoder

enter the codes from your build spec sticker in the boot / service manual and it translates into what options your car was built with.

Used that ebay carpet cleaner today just a quick go - yuk the micro fibre cloth is now brown.

Next time I clean the car I'll do the bits some more as it works a treat.

Another DTM owner here based over in Germany with the British army. Yet to see another on the road as of yet. Mine's standard apart from a Bluefin remap so far.

with a bit of this

to recap with details.
it now has had a re-spring using H&R 40mm lowering springs. and i have kept original alloys but have them repaired and resprayed gun metal grey (with metal flake) , i also carbon wrapped the center caps and wheel nut caps.

to de-cromed the front grill i used this stuff from shadowline.com (simply, peal, heat and stick. 30Ft for $20)

a complete front grill upgrade including S6 DRL, new headlights and something with electromagnets are in the pipeline  (but first i must pay my credit card bill)

cheers olethalb,

as a matter of interest, how are you planning keeping you number plate on your new grill?

i've got a stick on one at the moment but hate the look of it, intake temps are damn cool though :D

got a couple of tips at DubShed in Belfast yeaterday

1. was to use magnets (or if you want to be really clever, electromagnets)
2. and 2 guys had this - Hide The Plate.com

had no unwanted attention from police with the stick on yet so i'll leave it for now

friday i went up to MRC to finish the hybrid mapping, expected more to be honest but it feels strong and is smooth delivery up to the limiter

looking forward to the new style hybrid going on in the next couple of weeks and i should crack 400bhp barrier with ease :)

Anyone got part numbers for the S4 brake carriers? Thanks.

Any one got the above? Also what pads and brake fluid would you all recommend? Car due a service in about 1100 miles, so going to change brakes and some maintenance work at the same time. Just for my own piece of mind

Hi everyone, thought I'd drop in and introduce my DTM and get my name down on the list of owners... :arco:

Here's my Imola Yellow 55 plate DTM. Pretty standard at the moment whilst I build up my inventory of parts.

Have to say there's some nice motors in here, lots of time, money and effort put in. Can only aspire I suppose.

I'm also a proud owner of a DTM, I got it 3 weeks ago and love it so much. Standard car apart from the wheels have bin powder coated black and its bin remapped to 250bhp.

Things i want to do to it are:

Carbon fiber B piller covers
Carbon fiber wing mirrors ( not the stick on type )
Carbon fiber lower boot strip
Carbon fiber defuser tray
RS4 main grill

Hello everyone im from Peterhead (Aberdeenshire) and I have just purchased a silver 2005 DTM still totally standard.

Wondering what mods are worth while as I want more power out of the car as it feels slow :<

Scott.

Welcome Scott, there's plenty of mods listed in the b7 forums.. i'll give you the common ones,

Start with air filter: Piper X panel is most ppls choice, stay away from oiled ones (K&N etc, they clog the maf) then a remap, Revo, APR, APS, MRC or smaller local outlets. then Exhaust (cat is quite restrictive), brakes and Springs/shocks or coilovers. Another to do is B7 RS4 rear anti roll bar referred to as RARB only about £70 and changes the bias of the handling to a more positive nose in on the bends.

remap and air filter should give you about 45bhp.

After that it's K04 turbo and S3/TTS injectors with exhaust and sport cat or decat pipe, also HPFP, you'll hit 300bhp no problem Intercoolers need changing also if going to the k04 to get the best from the outlay..

plenty of cars and ppl with mods listed on here for you to lookup!

Hey! Thanks for that im looking to start modding in a couple of months once i have put some cash together and ill get the filter and map done first. Dont know if ill go as far as changing the turbo, doubt I could afford that haha!

Scott.

Hi all. looking to buy my second DTM, first one was the wifes... quick question ref extra power... would it be worth adding exhaust bits before a remap and if so just the cat replacement pipe or go further with a full cat back system would there be additional gains over just replacing the cat, also ref this what is the suggested source for either cat of system replacement....Are S3 injectors easy to come by..?

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageHi just stumbled across this thread, never been on any kind of forum before but I've just got sum good ideas from reading this already so thought I might aswell show my face! I've had a dtm for just over 4 years now and not realy loved it as much as I should (other distractions in life ect) and think its about time I started doing a few tweaks to it and falling in love with it again. Hers the only pics I have on my phone sorry for poor quality. And pics are with 20's on its now back on standard wheels just sprayed black. Let me know what you guys think.

Ps. How do you post pics from an iPhone? I'm having difficulty lol

Any of ye lads going to the GTi International at the weekend?

i will be over from Ireland and would love to see other DTM's up close for ideas and advice.

Hi Mate,
It was nice to see you and your car..out of interest what did you do the quarter in?

it was good to meet you and nice to see your car too. i have a bit of inspiration now.

did the quarter in 15.7 but my reaction times were very ****. i only did 3 runs as it is a LONG way back to Ireland on a trailer.

got REVO to put a stage 1 map on car on saturday and i must say i am very pleased. you are right, power is addictive.

Been away from the forum for a good while. I've a sprint blue DTM, lived it's last few years in Aberdeen and Scottish highlands. It's now home in Ireland with me, at least temporarily. Mods are Eibach springs, Custom-Code remap and K&N filter. Now, about the last bit, I appear to have made the mistake of oiling it after 2 and a half years use. There was a drop in power. The MAF has had liberal amounts of CRC MAF cleaner sprayed through which did remove some oily deposits, there was an improvement but it's still not boosting as before and the kick on and off the remap that were present still haven't returned. Ideas anyone? Also what's the N75 issue referred to?

Thanks,

H

Hi all,

Does anyone have any info on the S4 DTM version I keep seeing on US forums. This seems to be a valid version released by Audi but only in the US, or am I wrong, was it available in th UK ever?

seems like the perfect combo to me, I love my S$ and love the look of the DTM model.

they are just S4 with the DTM body kit.

"A limited edition variant, developed by quattro GmbH, was first introduced in May 2005, named "Audi A4 DTM Edition". It was inspired from Audi's race cars of the 2004 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, and was reintroduced in 2006 as a regular option. The 2.0T FSI engine received revised software mapping to the ECU, which increased the output to 220 PS (162 kW; 217 bhp) and 300 N·m (221 lb·ft) of torque. It was available with front-wheel drive, or quattro four-wheel drive."

Cheers for the info, I know all about the DTM 2.0T FSI version and its limited run etc. The guys in the US are talking about a speacil 25th Anniversary S4 DTM edition that was avaialbe, I was just curious. It now turns out to be a US option at dealers according to the guys in the US, S4 with DTM option.

They look good.

Ok,

Contacted an friend at Audi, and I don't mean my local dealer, I mean at Audi on the engineering and design side of things (sportscar design). The perk of being in the Automotive/motorsports industry, we all work with everyone everywhere at some point in time.

The US S4 in DTM spec was launched with a limited run of 250 and was to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Quattro.

Just thought I'd share that, it’s a new vehicle to me over and above the EU spec DTM special which I like, but I love this look with the 4.2 V8.

good to see this thread is still going and have new DTM'ers on board :)

ahhh, the DTM thread.
now that i have you, tell me this.

my car developed a very annoying and loud screech/Squeak/Noise/whisteling . it takes a while to develop. after the engine has warmed up a bit it starts. but only what idling, under load it disappears.
First i thought, Compressor pulley ...........nope
Then i thought, Alternator pulley and or the little clutch on the front of it :notme:...........nope (it cost me 200 yo yo's to find that out)
Then i cried a bit :sadlike:
then i sought a second professionals opinion, he said, Timing Belt Tensioner ... (was going to cost 400 yo yo's)
but i did not believe him so i got a third opinion.

mechanic number 3 cracked it.

it turns out to be (probably) the PCV valve. he said" Try to take off the oil cap WHILE the engine is running. If it is hard to take off, and it feels as if there is suction. PCV"
DIY: PCV Valve, Breather Tube, & Gasket Replacement

so mechanic number 1 (me) fired
mechanic number 2 can only have car for simple stuff
mechanic number 3 is my new best friend.

anybody else have issues with the PCV valve?

they're a common issue on the TFSI for letting go, other symptoms include loss of boost and boost entering cam cover causing oil to leak from gasket or around oil cap.

i've got a delete kit on mine but they are fairly cheap to replace iirc

once we figured out it was a whistle instead of a squeak it was easy to figure it out.

getting it fixed this evening. then it is back to full POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWER :racer:
