Mine was ordered mid January and is build week 19 - when do u think I'll get it? Dealership aren't giving me any dates...

i ordered mine in the 1st week on January Neil and i got a mail yesterday saying that my vehicle was in production, i then got a phone call from the stealership this morning to say it was at the docks waiting shipment, it will be ready for collection in 2-3 weeks, happy days....

Same week as mine and the dealer told me 2nd week of June, still feels like a long way off to me!

I got a call one week ago stating mine was on the boat arriving the next day and then got a call today stating the system says its now at the docks in Germany :sob:
My car seems to be going Backwards! ordered late Dec

My SB was built in week 6 apparently. I chased up the Lease company yesterday, as my "in stock" date was 20/3 & I'd not recieved any updates.

I was told that its going to be another 3 weeks or so before delivery....*sigh*....this waiting malarky is getting old...

yeah I'd been told end of April, now find out it is build week 18 which is end of April and it will be another 3 weeks or so beyond that so end of May for week 18 build is consistent.
Frustrating as I tried to change the spec and was told it is too late and would get pushed to the end of the queue even though it won't be getting built for another 5 weeks

These build dates are all very strange. Fortunately for me, I am getting mine delivered on the 26th which had a build week of 10. We originally ordered two A3's of the same spec and colour in December, but I changed the colour of mine in January from Scuba blue to Daytona grey. Although mine is here next week, the other A3 is not even in the country yet and this had no spec changes.

I would say that a lot can depend on the colour you choose. There are a lot of people on here that seem to have ordered Daytona grey (which is an S Line only colour), which could mean they build cars of this colour more often. This could be total nonsense, but does explain why mine is here first.

Hi All,

Nooob here, long time lurker.

Me and the missus took the plunge on Sunday and ordered our first ever Audi - The A3 S-Line SB in Misano Red, 1.4 tfsi COD 140ps, Standard Suspension, Deletion of model etc, Comfort package, Through load, Audi sound system, Folding mirrors, interior light package.

Went for a test drive and was blown away, missus fell in love with it, much to my relief :)

Roll on September .... our estimated delivery date ... cant wait for a build date

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

congratulations on placing your order and good luck with the car when it arrives.

Can i ask which engine/gearbox combo did you test drive as i am looking into an A3 3dr with the same engine you have ordered but obviously unable to test drive until engine is launched, unless i drive the golf GT - not to sure how they will compare though.

If it is a 6 month build date i better get a move on!

Hi MT3,

We test drove the 1.4 tfsi 122 6 speed manual, it was a peach, so smooth and quiet. Went for the cod due to the economy and extra zip.

I nearly fell through the floor when they said September!! bit im sure it will be worth the wait. I wonder when we will find out the official build date?

so get your skates on... :)

Carlos

Just found out yesterday that mine has slipped back to build week 30ish so possibly August delivery. That being the case I'll just wait until September and get the 63 plate (even though my private one's going on). A bit gutted but it'll be something to look forward to after the summer.

Hi there,

I received a letter from Audi UK this week (not the dealer) thanking me for my order and saying that my car was "in production".

Any ideas what this actually means or is it just a general sop to keep me happy in the meantime?

I placed my order on 16 February.

Thanks

Got mine today and loving it!!

Car

The wait is nearly over had an unexpected phone call from the dealer yesterday. Car was built last week, week 12 and was on the boat the sheerness yesterday fingers crossed I can have it Saturday!

Mine is on the same boat, dealer still thinks bout 2-3 weeks before I get it.
No rush though, I'm a patient chap, it will be here when it's here.

Very nice indeed, congrats.... Is that the sports suspension (standard on the S-Line) or the softer and higher riding SE suspension?

Its the sports suspension. I would have gone for the S Line suspension but I know this can delay the production. The car handles like a dream anyway, so there is no need for the S Line suspension in my opinion now that I have driven it properly.

Mine was week 11 build and is now in the port in the UK, waiting for a transfer to dealer date now. Hope to have it end of the week after Easter fingers crossed!

Just go a call to say mine was at last showing up in UK port Grimsby. Hopefully have it for Friday as i am driving up for football from Bedford to Carlisle on Saturday. :footy: (and back again) :nyah:

i have had an A1 courtesy car for the past week, mentioned to the dealer this morning that I had a trip to Carlisle on Saturday with 5 adults and he gave me a A6 s line black edition until mine arrives. Can't say I am complaining too much about the wait anymore! :arco:

My Lease company contacted me today, my SB 2.0 TDI S-Line will be delivered on Friday morning! Can't wait !! :yahoo:

cheers Chris, what model, colour did you order ??

If mine came July I may accept the car as I have a cherished plate. Any thoughts on that one anyone?? Or should I wait.

I'd do the same. I'm not sure the plate change makes a lot of difference these days anyway... and I have very little patience!

I have no patience either, I want the car now, I think it does effect value though, 13 or 63 could mean £500 difference.I remember taking my S3 on 31st January, car would have been worth £500 more had I waited another 28 days.

In theory, yes. You're absolutely right. However, I've always found it only to work in the dealer's favour! There's so many factors that come into play at the time of changing a car, I've given up worrying about it. I've found mileage, condition, options, colour, general desirability and simple supply and demand have as much a bearing on the price, depending on which way the wind blows with the salesman!

Playing devil's advocate, you'll also have had two months use with two months depreciation. That'll have wiped out the £500 saving. I guess the best illustration of this is on lease costs - they tend to stay the same whenever the car is registered as it equals out over a fixed term.

I guess it'll come down to how patient you can be. My A3 wasn't due in until May but came early. I took it straight away, even though I still have my current lease car to run for a month. The A3 may have been worth a little more registered in May rather than March.... but life's too short!

decisions.... decisions....

yes I guess your right, never really thought about the 2 months depreciation, if I get the chance to get the car early ( fingers crossed) I will take it.

Ordered a new 1.4 SB sport on 13/01. Was given build week 14 (which was last week I think) and was told by the dealer today that the car is in the UK at Tyne port and with a fair wind I could have it within 7 days. :). Happy days!
