Hi guys... I put a cone filter on my 1.8t agu n i could hear the turbo flutter (chatter) really loud..
tried my mates diverter valve n same thing.. Whar could it be causing this??
shud i buy a forge 007? Or is it somethn else thats not diverting boost back in instead of out the turbo!!?
i dnt want to damage turbo.
any help pls
thanks

My mates Octavia VRS did this when he fitted a Pipercross induction kit. He swore blind that was all he had changed, me thinking he had fitted a atmospheric DV or BOV.

The chatter noise is usually a faulty DV, maybe running too strong as spring and not releasing pressure and as the air is hitting the blades within the compressor housing, it can cause it to stall and therefore giving the chatter sound. Not good for the turbo and should be dealt with sooner rather than later.

Ok n75?!!! Will research this.. As its defo a flutter n not a whoosh.
Il check first thing morning.
Thanks guys.

Okk guys i checked n75 pipes.. They seemed fine. No split in pipes etc.. What else could make it flutter instead of the whoosh sound??
I really need this sorted as i drive it everyday to work n dnt want to damage turbo as thr flutter noise is loud.
pls help
thanks

Ive already tried my mates standard dv.. Hmmnn il try another one. Thanks.. Il update once new bought tomorw.
cheers

Chances are your mates dv is split too mate!

somoften the dv's on these cars are broken, and on the standard air of you usually won't hear the flutter. It only becomes apparent that you have a dv problem when you change the air filter.

If the vac line from the inlet manifold to the dv is intact, then the dv is faulty.

Ok cheers guys.. My mate has a 007 so will try that today n get bk to u..
thanks

Ok guys ive tried everythn!!! Tried a workn forge 007... Tried my mates n75... Checked alll pipes.. Still flutters!!
is there anyone on here who can get to the bottom of this.. Ill come to u if ur in london.. Anything at literally any price to get this problem fixed!! Its a 1.8t agu
thanks.
im located in west london so anyone know any mechanic with this engine knowledge??

Can anyone help with this?? Defo not dv... Tried another n75 valve...
Pipes are fine...
wot else???????

Yh thers defo n block or leak somewer... Or maybe a faulty part? I dnt knw. Im tkn it to a vw specialist place mear by tomorw.. See if they have any idea.

N249?

Pipes.under then manifold.nine did this when I fitted it incorrectly. I put money on it

paradox is that the inlet at front of engine?? How do the pipes go on? Which way?? Sorry but im thick wen it comes to these emgines... Too many valves pipes etcc unlike my old rs turbo loll

Ok just did research n aparently there isnt a n249 on agu engines!!!
prawn mentiones this on another thread i searched...

There isn't one mate :( it won't be that

can you get a pic up of how you've plumbed it in?

where abouts exactly are you? If you're anywhere near me or where ill be passing I'm happy to take a look for you

My bad, I forgot AGU egnines wasnt blessed with pointless crap like AUM.

Funny this thread has come up. mines started doing the same when I boost past 3k.

Ive changed all the vaccum pipes so im going to have a look over the weekend.

****** cars!

Yep letting of throttle.. Ibe being doing Lot of research n someone has a injectors leakn which caused flutter.. I have 2 leaking as its wet around them so im goin to change the o rings right now n see if it does the trick.. Il let u guys know in a few hours...

Ok guys i did what badger5 said... No suck from pipe ontop of dv.. Checked the other side to that dv pipe to inlet at bottom and theres No suction there too.. But the pipe on right of inlet has vacuume so i followed that n put the dv pipe on a bleed nipple that was there.. I know its no ideal but it works n i hear the whoosh sound now.

my question is that y is there no suction on connection under inlet?? But the pipe that connects on right of inlet does!!??

weird one... Any help??

Just to make it more clear as im goin on n on loll
theres 2 outlets under intake mani.. One goes to fuel regulator n other next to it goes to dv.. The dv one has no vacuum at all!!
i havnt checked fuel reg one as i didnt want to break the hose clip and it looks ok..
what could cause that outlet to not have no suction?? Could there be a blockage in the manifold for that connection??
thanks

Thanks for the reply guys... I dont have a boost gauge... Im in west london. Heathrow.. What could have blocked that outlet? What would be the best way yo unblock it as i did put a hair clip into the outlet n it seemed ok.. Maybe nlocked inside inlet somewer.. Any other ways of unblocking it?? Dont want to be takn intake off as its not my area of expertiese lol

its blocked then..
try poking something up the outlet little drill, piece of welding wire etc

as I previously said.. No vacuum No workie
you have found the source at least now

Yh im goin to try sonethn else to poke up there long enough to try clear blockage... Im also goin to check if theres vacuum on other inlet to fuel reg...

Guys i tried clearing the blockage but no luck... I poked a wire into outlet but it gets stuck at a certain point.. Dnt know wots blocked it..
can i put a t piece onto fuel reg pipe n use that vacuum to dv IF that ones not blocked too?? Lol should be ok right as ppl use that for boost gauge i think??
thanks
Aaron

Is it a easy task taking inlet off?? Would i need new gaskets etc??
Also how would i know if theres no vacuum to fpr? As i really dont want to be taking that pipe off?
thanks

You will need a new inlet gasket, theres abotu 10-12 allen studs to remove, and another 2 for the fuel rail that needs removing. be sure to cover the actual inlet of the engine whiel the manifold is off as the last thing you want, is anything going down there. get some carb cleaner and give it a good clean

Take the throttle body off and have a look? Probably easier than taking the while thing out.

Thanks paradox!!! Seems quite straight forward!! Il do that over weekend
