Where is the cheapest place to get them online?
Theres so many different sites :(

I always use Demon Plates. There may be cheaper sites but not by much and the service and quality from Demon is always spot on.

Sorry to hijack this thread but have any of you guys got metal plates? And do you get trouble from the boys in blue?

I've got pressed metal plates; decided to go for it after a bit of research suggested they're perfectly legal as long as they have the manufacturer's details etched into them (which mine do). No interest from the police.... yet.

Does it make a difference to the look?

best place i've used for plates was seller on ebay perfectplates. £12 a set delivered next day and fully legal with all the requred markings etrc. ordered quite a few sets from them in the past and all have been A1. included full fitting kit too.

Ive got a set of pressed metal plates from DTUK, search it on the forum, They look awesome, especially with LED numberplate lights on the rear. they were about £30 iirc.

I was very reluctant to buy them because i didnt want to be stopped every 5 minutes, but i got them, and i actually had police tail me all the way through Cardiff for at least 15 minutes the other day, and they didnt stop me. Had them follow me loads, must be the stereotype with S3 and dealers or something... but no, never been stopped, yet...

Or Dubmeister do them too.

I think this will be next on my list, pressed plates with surrounds, also change the bulbs to LED while I'm at it.

I'm gonna have to do this. It's a cheap mod and an instant one. I currently have a big bulky reg plate holder on the back which doesn't make the most of my LED lights.
