2G MMI Sat Nav Updates

Hi All!

I have the 2G MMI DVD based Sat Nav in my A4. It has the 2009 DVD Nav disc and I would like to update it.
Apart from updated maps, what other (if any) other improvements are there?

I have heard something about 3D or birds eye view being improvements?

What are these differences in 2009 v 2010 v 2011 v 2012 v 2013 updates?

Also where can I get a 2013 disc without paying a fortune from Audi?

I can't find any on eBay.

Also is there any risk in updating the nav and is it just a case of inserting the new disc and waiting for the upload?

No point in posting a pic as all the fake copies copy the disc image too.

Just type mmi 2g 2012 into ebay and you'll see all the copies.

2013 hasn't been released yet.

You'll have the Birdseye view already as your car is 2009 and should hopefully have the 5570 firmware.

Press NAV then SETUP to change the view.

No risk in upgrading as its just the maps.

Well can somebody private message me a pic of an official 2012 dvd please?

I have seen all those fakes, but I have been offered a 'genuine' DVD so just wanted to confirm it was.

They all look the same.

How much is the disc you've been offered? If its too cheap then it's usually fake.

Yup. But 1hr left so wont let me retract it. i went for that one as I thought it was the only genuine one for sale as it was the only one that looked similar to my genuine 2009 disc.

Damn. Well there's nothing wrong with using a non genuine disc but you're paying for something that you could've downloaded yourself lol.
