Been a fair old couple of weeks with the S3, nothing that's not to be expected though just annoying when they all come at the same time.

In the last 3 weeks I have had the following sorted:

New rear brake calipers (old ones seized)
Rear discs
Rear pads
Haldex oil and filter
Power steering coolant pipe replaced
Thermostat
Front top mounts and bearings
Vacuum pipe repaired (new one will come in time but for now temp fix is doing fine)
M.O.T (failed first time due to excessive play in front top mounts)
-----

To do next:

Rear tyres
Vacuum pipe (temp fix probably last forever but is it worth the risk?)
Rear Anti roll bar is knocking slightly, was an advisory on the MOT
Get out and enjoy the damn thing!!!!!!!!

Total cost: £824 :(

Hopefully the joy of driving it will outweigh the cost! Mine seemed to eat money for fun when I was doing all the little jobs to get it MOT ready.

How does it feel now you had the top mounts changed, mine felt like a new car. Dan that's a damn good price you paid for all that work that's been done, where did you take it.

Chris.

Car feels alot better up front from what I've seen on the way home, not done many miles since collecting but early signs look pleasing.

got a niggle with the rear ARB ball joint though so now I will only hear that everytime i go over a speed hump haha.

The tall and short of it is the final bill seems big in one hit but looking at the list of jobs completed it feels pretty damn good!

glad to here you got it sorted i know what you mean money wise. i only had my s3 a month and had to spend 500 on it but its worth it in the end

Yes they will have a tendancy to eat money but it certainly feels worth it for the drive afterwards!

Have been to Midland VW couple of times but a few friends recommended I try the place I use now and it suits me now and they are getting to know my car a bit so usefull for any future problems lol.
