Thinking of taking my s3 to awesome gti to have a check over and be plugged in see if theres any faults may need n75. What are the prices like are they reasonable or do they leave big holes in your pockets?

If you just want a VAGCOM scan I have a VAGCOM cable and do it for you, my brother lives in Chorley so I am down there every now and then.

any idea of the cause and amount of damage. Do you know if its standard or modified, maybe a case of it throwing a rod due to power spike. worst case you could think of rebuild and project for more power, hope you dont have to sell it dude.

I know it doesnt help, but people need to be aware of the extra torque when it is near freezing ambient...

well just driving normally no boost. and put it in 3rd and bang. Oil set on fire on exhaust had to run in chippy for a fire extingusher.
Really cant afford to rebuild it the engine in it has only been in a month. Really dont no what to do. Dnt have the space to break it either. And not sure what its worth with it being like it is.

Its going to be a grand minimum. Jus cant really afford to chuck that at it right naw. I do have an old engine for it but needs rings.

The oil set on fire from the hole in the block? As Dave said the torque request from cold temperatures aswell as maybe additional loading from using too high a gear. Maybe just plain old mechanical failure. These engines are getting on now and when pushed are showing their age. Shame mate but thats life...
