Just searching through eBay for some replacement bulbs and stumbled accross this listing.

2x 5 SMD LED 501 T10 W5W CANBUS NO ERROR FREE XENON WHITE SIDE LIGHT BULBS 6K ** | eBay

Thought - hmmmmm - that looks nice. OMFG - its my car!! The cheeky *******s have taken a picture i posted on either here or another forum of some new DRL's I fitted, without my permission and used it in their advert!

I am a little frustrated that photos posted on car forums have been stolen and used without my express permission, especially when the picture posted was to demonstrate DRL bulbs and not actually LED side lights!

They have been contacted........

Thats shockng James. You get them sorted out. Will be interested to see if they reply. :) x

Tell them they can keep it but you want money for it?

Then i want them to show me the money otherwise i feel like i have been papped!! Hold on - i took the ****** photo so its more like being Fraped!! Damn it - i've been violated.(

Unfortunately this is all above board.
They aare allowed to use it as you have posted a pic on a public website.

I had some wind deflectors being advertised on my car in the same way.
Luckily I told the guy it was my car and he changed the pic as my plates were showing as well. Just message the seller if you don't like it.

they shouldnt of used your photo without your permission. This is a copyright issue. Go get them Sorted James. :) x

Then i will complain to ebay and get it delisted. Dont really mind either way!

I'd feel happy my car was good enough to show in an advertisement pic plus you can't see your plates

i doubt ebay will take it down tbh, even though its your photo its been heavily edited and you cant see the reg

this is a risk you take when showing off your car online

If anything, you should be flattered, they like your car enough to use it as point of sale for a product

I was well impressed when someone used a pic of my MK2 golf a bit back in order to demonstrate how good the alloys looked, in order to sell a set they had

Yep, defo your car James, I recognise your garage, but I am sure I didn't go to Bradford to do your cruise, lol!
Bit of a liberty, but you never know mate, they may send you some of those LED's as good gesture.

i dont really get why you are offended - its a compliment that they are using your car to model their products (even if they aint actually selling what you have on show).

Post them a fresh ****

It's my photo and my car and was put on another forum to show the DRL bulbs got that weren't LED rather than the LED sidelights that he is advertising rather than being for advertising purposes. If he had asked he could have happily had it - no dramas.

ANYWAY........ Hats off to the guy - he has responded:

Hi James

Many thanks for pointing this out do you have the forum link ?

Your picture is absolute fantastic and it's a brilliant capture of light which is near enough possible to get right

We was not part of the forum otherwise would have definite asked and offered some free LEDs as a thank you as we always do

The issue we had us we sell cool white so tiny of blue that picture is ideal to show this

If it is your picture we are more then happy to sort out out with some LEDs as a thank you do you still have that car

JJ

So credit where its due.

James, tell him I owned the car before you, so should also be entitled to some free LEDs.:whistle2:

Will do Danny. You not sold up yet matey?

Yeah I sold up before Xmas mate, got the full asking price of 9200 so can't complain. Was so gutted to see her being driven away :-(
But it had to be done mate, and one day, when I pass the knowledge, I will be back in another one :)

Shame about the lack of English grammar or laziness in not checking.:busted_cop:

Ahhhh - finally - someone after my own heart that loathes poor spelling and grammar........

Unfortunately, it happens all to often, on this site aswell!!

I dont expect it to be perfect english, but the expectation of a comma, full stop, paragraph etc, isnt just because we're anal english stuck up ******, its because it makes the post readable & the context understandable, some are just hopeless with one long sentence & you cant grasp the overall point at times, but alas.

There was an issue like that over on the forum I'm Admin on; a guy had blatantly pinched a members pics to advertise a spoiler on ebay. The member wrote to the seller, who ignored it; so he contacted ebay and they took the listing down.

Nigel, James et al, I'm with you on the punctuation and grammar.

Oh the irony.
