Winter - The dirty car thread

For crying out loud has Plod nothing better to do? If you were in a Chaved-up Astra or rusty old Cavalier then yes it would be highly likely that you have no tax, MOT, insurance etc.

That's absolutely mad, nothing else better to do. Good job there's no murderers on the loose eh

If the number place was unreadable then it's fair enough to be stopped.

Mine hasn't been washed in 4 weeks - I usually wash every week, its usually spotless.
Just cant see the point at the minute as it gets dirty as soon as I drive it.

The dodo juice seems to be keeping a fairly good coat on the paint though.

The rain over the past few days has actually cleaned the car for me, the salt/grit on the roads the other week literally blackened the car. Cant stand knowing there is salt all over the car, makes me cringe.

may i ask, was it the traffic police or normal police that stopped you?
It's that time of year where the gritters are out and car's get dirty quickly.

I got stopped the other day by plod for a dirty rear number plate but was let on my way after cleaning it with my work coat.

The car was fully washed and parked up until last night.

The below is a result of a 100 mile round trip. Not happy.

Lets see your dirty cars!

My A3 has turned Phantom Black ;)

Don't worry - the body is protected with Collonite and the wheels PB Wheel Sealant ;)

I have nothing wrong with traffic police. It's their job to keep the roads safe.

Can we get my thread back on topic?

A dirty number plate can prevent ANPR from reading you rplate. So if it got nicked it would make it harder to find. Then you would complain that the 'plod' were not doing there job. Plate is there for a reason! It needs to be readable. Say someone knocked over one of your family and took off but you couldnt read plate because of dirt on it? Point made methinks!

Not a dirty car complaint but I got charged last year by the cops for my plate not having the right spacing !
What really annoyed me was all day on the radio we was being told that it was going to be the busiest night (works party's etc) for the Emg services but this
Nice traffic officer in his 5 serries booooooo , managed to squeeze me in in his busy schedule and issue a £60 fine 3 days before Xmas !
And couldn't give me a answer why the car had passed 5 mots ! Not even a advisory from MoT station ????
Just really annoyed me, I have a lot of time for police and if in the wrong fair deal but it just seamed petty ,
Went out next day got a set of plates ,
Problem solved .
